READ CAREFULLY
This is an userland xploit that will require a retail game or eshop version (not available in all countries) to work. Game name is NOT YET released.
YES, this will run homebrew apps.
NO, an userland xploit can't allow you to load roms.
NO, even with this, it could take months to never to have an actual working kernex xploit. Example, the 4.5 xploit that gateway uses to load games haven't been ported to load things from SD card.
READ SO YOU DON'T FEEL DISAPOINTED WHEN THIS HIT THE STREETS.
Thank you

That's how it is with these scene devs. They're perfectly okay with removing the restrictions on these devices, allowing you to do things that the manufacturer doesn't want you to...
...but then they turn around like the complete hypocrites that they are and implement their own restrictions on what they feel you should be allowed to do with the hardware.

They're already breaking the law by modifying the 3DS. Why are they stopping at piracy? Because they still want a sense of moral superiority by not giving into "filthy pirate" despite the fact that it is illegal to modify game software.

As for SD card, look for micro SD cards that come with an SD card adapter. They're slightly cheaper.

Nice, maybe someday when there is a way to use it for roms i can pirate nogames. Because the 3ds is pretty much dead since this year began. Smash bros is the only game that looks interesting, and this will be miles better on wii u. Should have bought a vita or at least a wii u instead. Even though both are /v/s mainfocus for hate they both offer more games im interested in than the 3ds at the moment.

I wouldnt say that. I would mainly buy the wii u for smash bros and bayonetta to be honest, but since i put way more than 600h in brawl on the wii i wouldnt mind using the wii u as a smash bros machine as well. And i counted more than 10 games i would want on the vita not including the ones that are coming the next months, so i guess after using the 3ds for smash bros until it comes out for wii u i will just sell it and get a wii u and propably a vita as well since the vita is dirtcheap anyway.

I doubt it. I mean, I don't know much about how it all works, but PSP was booting up PSX EBOOTs rather than ISOs.
What's really fucking weird is that PSX EBOOTs ran really fucking good, even for games that weren't actually ported onto the store. Rather it was an actual ISO turned EBOOT.
Then people tried injecting N64 games into the Wii as a .wad and shit either ran like garbage/didn't run/ran but didn't function or save properly.

Nah, that was just a small update issued by gamefreak to fix some sort of wi-fi connectivity problem in X&Y if I remember correctly.
Smea confirmed his homebrew loader will work on the latest firmware. I wouldn't update past that should some update magically pop up between now and the release in a few hours/days though, just to be on the safe side.
>>
I'm guessing we don't know yet but any requirements? Like certain firmware?
>>
>>260216941
Where did you hear this? Because I want this to happen so bad. Literally everything I could ask for apart from 3DS rom loading.
>>
>>260215839
The problem is that both Vita and 3DS don't have that many actual upcoming releases, most of them are titles already released ages ago in Japan finally making their way to the west. If you go look at the upcoming games over there, you'll notice how the list is kinda empty except for stuff like Pokemon and Smash on 3DS or the occasional "weeb" game on Vita.
The influence of mobile games and bad hardware or marketing choices made both consoles peak really early in their life, and now they're already going down. Of course they won't die istantly, especially in the west precisely because games take more time to get here, but I don't see them being too relevant for more than 1-2 years.

The Wii U is already in a better position since it is and will always be the go-to console for Nintendo games and nothing will take that away until the end of the gen.
>>
>>260217367
It works on any firmware between 4.0 and whatever the latest one is. We don't know anything else apart from it needing some unspecified game in order to be installed.
>>
>>260217439
That's implied anon. The reason we couldn't do it before is because the original DSes didn't have storage and nobody bothered to hack the DSi.

Since the 3DS is backwards compatible it'll run every game perfectly, we most likely have to wait a little for a program to load the ROMs and we'll be good (shouldn't be too long considering the very old firmware on the original DS).

Just a question in mind. How does the game's cartridge have a play in this? Does the game end up being unusable/no longer playable after installing the Homebrew Channel or you just need it there in the cartridge slot and you could still play it afterwards if you remove the program? Just curious since SM3DL is mentioned being one of the rumored games and I have it, but the thought of making it unplayable kinda messes with my head. Still pretty damn new figuring things out.

The game has some kind of glitch or bug that opens up a vulnerability, the hack (from the 3DS's SD card, I guess) exploits that vulnerability to install the homebrew channel. The game itself should be fine afterwards, I don't think the 3DS can even write on it or anything outside of the save file.

Honestly it would make sense given how it fits all of Smealum's hints, the problem is that the leak went on with OP saying how he and his team were working on another hack based on the same exploit, that said hack already allowed piracy, cheating and even stuff like custom textures and models, and that we would have heard from him sometime soon.
