Ultima 4, DOSBox with the original game works, but most people would probably prefer the fanmade updated engine XU4. All of the required documentation (and the game) can be gotten from GOG in good quality for free as well.
The documentation and taking notes are not optional. It's a very fun experience if you're bored of modern video games.

2d top-down football/air-hockey kind of combo. Pretty high skill ceiling with plenty of mods/arenas available. Netcode might be iffy at times. This reminds me of two other free games:
Sub Rosa and Hockey? (or 'Hockeyquestionmark'). Both great fun, very original games. Shame they haven't been updated in ages, evenothough the dev(s) seem to be actively working on them.

There used to be a game me and my friends played, you used gravity gun sorta things to take a ball and shoot it into goals, you could shoot it out of someones hand as well but the site stopped advertising it and I could no longer play it, was third person as well, fun as fuck.
