From the little I've played, the jumpscares are the last kick in the dick. It's really the tension of watching out for each of those robotic fuckers and trying to keep them from getting to you. They were supposed to be checking the cams even when the guy's talking. Problem is with the fox is that it moves if you don't check it at all for long periods of time. It's still possible for it to get you on the first night, but you'll have to really suck at the game for that to happen.
If I recall correctly, the first day starts off piss easy with only one (or maybe two) of the animals moving, while the second day gets a little frequent with having to check on the fox every so often. Freddie the Bear stays inactive until the fourth or fifth night (I think), but he always gets you when you run out of power.
Each night is randomized, so if they're all at your door, you're just super unlucky.

Posting strats:
Foxy for nights 1-2 requires you to watch Foxy in pirate cove, if you don't watch Foxy in pirate cove he comes to get you. Nights 3+ if you watch Foxy you actually cause him to come faster/quicker etc, and its watching Freddy that keeps Foxy from showing up. If you ever go to pirates cove and Foxy is not there, you have to instantly go back to your room and shut the left door or he'll grab you and rip you off your monitoring gear, and if you see foxy running in hallway 2A you have about half a second to get into the room and slam the left door shut. If you're ever in the room trying to save power and you suddenly hear foot steps, slam the left door, as only Foxy makes noise when walking.
Watching Foxy on day 4+ will cause him to activate near instantly, watching Foxy on day 5+ at all will cause him to come within 30 seconds of you leaving him, thus, don't watch Foxy at all on days 4 and 5.
Freddy has a set path, he's always approaches the same way every time which has been confirmed even by the developer, he does not have a random movement set, so if Freddy was in room A, and is not there anymore, he's in room B etc.

Its debated if Freddy can move through walls/doors etc, but from what I've seen if the right door is closed he can't come in. Freddy the thing is you have to watch him more and more every night, if you lose track of Freddy on day 5 you're pretty much done for if the right door is open, if you've lost track of Freddy, lock the right door and find him quickly, then get back to the room and unlock the door if Chica isn't there.
Robbie moves about the map slowly, but you cause him to come quicker if you spend too much time looking at a single screen, so if you spend like 5+ seconds looking at a room he'll show up much faster
Chica moves about the map completely randomly, she has no real movement and she can move across multiple rooms in a single turn, Robbie can do this as well but Chika is the true master of moving across multiple rooms. What triggers her to move faster etc we don't know yet.

The fifth secret suit know as yellow Freddy can show up randomly at any time, but his approach is always fixed, in room 2B there is a happy poster of Freddy on the wall, if this poster changes to a yellow freddy that's been zoomed into his face big time, the next time you lower your camera yellow freddy will be sitting in your room, and the way to escape him is by bringing down your camera and then bringing it back up again as rapidly as possible before he attacks you. As for the doors, if the door will no longer close or you heard the "Shuunnn" oil can like sound when you turn the light on and see either of them and the door was open, that means Bonnie/Chica is in the room with you and you've lost, in which case if you can still shut the left door, shut it and hope you can wait it out, if you can't shut the left door, see if you can still shut the right door and go into the camera and watch Foxy on pirate cove to make sure he won't move and you might survive the night, Freddy can still jump you if the right door is open but Foxy is the real danger cause if he leaves the cove you're toast.
Freddy and Foxy are the only two suits who can jump you with the doors open, Foxy on the left, Freddy on the right.
Keep in mind these are all tactics from before update 1.1, so things might have changed by now.
