I can't say that I have a favorite level, but I always love running through the very difficult bonus stages at the end. It's a really good game that can do that successfully.

Klonoa: Empire of Dreams and Klonoa 2: Dream Champ Tournament are both on the GBA. They've basically the same gameplay as the first two Klonoa games, except with pixels rather than 2.5D and a new move or two.
There's also Beach Volleyball for the PS1 and Klonoa Heroes for the GBA, but neither made it to the U.S. (Volleyball was apparently in Europe and Heroes stayed in Japan.)
I hope klonoa at least gets a trophy in smash. But what I really want is a new fucking game. I've never played the second gameboy one in english, is it worth it? I completed the japanese release but only had a vague idea of the story

The basic idea is that they are participating in a tournament for prices or whatever reason, and the bosses you fight are other tournament-goers. That's why most of them are races or competitions rather than straight-up fights. The ending wasn't as memorable as the story in the PS2 game, so I'd say you probably weren't missing out on much.
