One single search on Serenesforest:
First have Shanan equip the Balmunk and then get him killed. Then have a character use the Valkyrie staff, but don't resurrect him just yet. Instead press the X button to view his status screen. Press the L or R button and then exit. Return to the status screen and the Balmunk should now have changed to an Iron Lance with 98 uses. If not, try again (or you could just bash all the buttons like me). Save the game and reset. The next time you load the save, you should find the Balmunk purchasable in the Vendor. Aside from Shanan, only Lakche or Skasaher with major Odo blood can equip the Balmunk.

All features that only make the game more tedious and not enjoyable. That's why so many people stay away from the SNES games.
Supports, at least in the GBA games, aren't needed and they are more like a help. Not because the game is easy but because you can use different strategy. Same for skills in PoT/RD, they make the game easier but they're fun to use, I have to admit.

Well, he is THE FE lord. Kinda naive and unsure, but open when he needs other people's help. Makes a marked change by Mystery.
Gameplay-wise, even at his worst(Shadow Dragon) the game vomits rapiers at you and he can destroy with that and trivialize his shortcomings.
In other games he's great(FE1) or at least alright(FE3/12). Not getting the promotion boosts kinda hurts him in the long run but he'll be alright.

Chrom don't need much else. All you do for the first half of the game is stab wyvern riders, and by the second half, his high strength growth basically lets him swing that bitch around forever. Unlike other FEs there aren't exactly a lot of knights and cavaliers for him to use a rapier on until later in the game.

People don't stay away form the SNES games, they just don't commit to it. They SEEM tedious and too much thinking but in fact they're very simple and easy to learn. FE5 is treated as it's supreme difficulty when really maps are more puzzle games than anything.

You NEED supports in FE6's hard mode. Skills are not what makes PoR easy, it's the fact that enemies have low stats. RD is bullshit hard outside of Easy mode and you need careful skill distribution in those too.

12 is overrated trash that only got hyped up because of MyUnit. FE3 has a more boring plot, the maps are worse, and literally nothing was improved from 11. It still has the same awful models and lack of features so I'd rather play the game with good map design and a feel of adventure.

It's pretty critically acclaimed. /v/ has mixed feelings because some think it is too casualized for the following reasons:
-you can reclass your unit to basically any class and acquire all the OP skills (total of 5). >For example: counter, lethality (1 hit ko), galeforce (can move again after ko an enemy), lifetaker (regain 50% hp after ko an enemy).
-You can reclass all your units to any of the 3 class lines available to them.
>example: archer, knight, dark mage---promotes--->sniper, bow knight, great knight, general, sorcerer, dark knight
-re-classing allows you to max your units' stats
-there are a couple dozen bonus maps you can play and replay at any time that allow you to battle some of the old characters from the old games and recruit them. this allows you to grind to your hearts content and make your units OP
-there is a casual mode that allows you to keep your units if they die in battle
-S class support gives you access to a second generation of units who are the children of the first generation units and inherit some of their stats and skills as well as access to their collective available classes
-you can "Pair up" units which is like rescue except the rescued unit will occasionally block attacks for you or attack with you doing extra damage
-the enemy units don't pair up
I personally love the game. I think it could be casualized if you choose to play that way. The great thing about the game is the huge abundance of content and re-playability. If you want to play casually; casual mode, easy mode, paired up, grinded OP units. If you want to play hard mode; lunatic mode, classic mode, don't pair up, no over-leveled grinding. Another feature worth mentioning is the spot pass team. You can put your unit up on spotpass with your team. This allows other players who have the game to battle your team and possibly recruit your unit.
