OpenMW is getting released, basically a Morrowind game engine rewrite. It'll give us complete control over every line of code in game and give us endless modding capabilities. It'll also be optimised for new PCs, have a mac, linux and android port. It'll feature better animations, lightning, water and fix lots of bugs that were in game due to engine limitations. Give it two years and Morrowind will look like Crysis, won't be clunky and combat mods will be abundant.

I can't remember the name of it, but the mod/s with food, cooking, fishing, and thirst (with waterskins) better make it over to OpenMW. Having to plan out excursions in a harsh environment made it so much fucking fun, not to mention fishing just outside of Vivec, then setting up a campfire to cook my freshly caught dinner in view of the cantons.
