The trick to getting distance with the hammer is to use the second charged state. It lets you go long way in whatever direction you want and can chain directly into a triple pound. Once you learn how to do this you'll be able to move anywhere you want with little repercussion.

Just began playing monster hunter with Freedom unite on PSP, I am really enjoying it, I hate the fact that enemies run away when they reach a lower health since it just prolongs the battle needlessly but otherwise it's fun.
Are skills important in the game? I have pretty much been ignoring armor and just focusing on getting shiny on new weapons plus trying out all the different weapons.

The rathalos is notorious for having a really fucked up paint job on the eyes, and the hunter's spikes can come bent and warped.
If you want mh merch, I'd recommend buying scale figures instead of poseable ones, as the revoltechs are kinda shit.
