That's because which duster you receive depends on whether your reputation is higher with the NCR, the Legion or the Strip. Since the NCR is the faction with more quests, that makes it the easiest to get idolized by.

They're all pretty good.
Dead Money is super punishing and desperate(almost annoyingly so at times) and it has a great cast of characters who all play into the setting and themes really well. Narratively, my favorite out of all of them.
Old World Blues seems like a fan favorite. Has great exploration and loot, as well as an awesome new player home and some funny NPCs and easter eggs all over the place. Storywise, it's alright I guess. Nothing worth writing home about.
Lonesome Road ends the story arc hinted at throughout all the DLCs and is meant to be a climax to your personal story. It's somewhat linear with secrets and other things hidden off the beaten path, but it has great unique armor and weapons as well as a pretty cool antagonist and companion. Depending on the ending you choose, it can open up two new locations to explore in the Mojave which have more unique armor sets.
They're all worth playing at one point or another.

I'd recommend Realistic Weapons Damage and that one mod that adds the Fallout 1, 2, & Tactics weapons if you want more shit in the game, but other than than, you should be fine.
