How the fuck do you take the last turn on Rainbow Road 8 without a Sports Bike? I try to drift as close as I can to the edge, but then the cart can't keep up with the harshness of the turn and the drift causes me to slide off/almost off the track. I can't end the drift early because the boost will guaranteed throw me off the track.

Acceleration rounds down, so your 1.75 acceleration is really only 1 acceleration. Swap the Cyber-Slicks for something else (probably Standard) to get a round number. It'll help with your water speed as well.
That, or use the kart combo with DK/Waluigi/Rosalina. You'd be better off with Slims than Slicks though, for better water speed and traction.

Well, it depends. If you can pull ahead and not be hit by a red shell, it doesn't matter what your acceleration is. Other than that, it feels like 3 acceleration is the minimum for doing anything. Otherwise, you're just stuck crawling and asking for another green shell to hit you again.
