Kirby and the Amazing Mirror was fucking GOAT
Also pic related was the best entry into the Nintendo Wars series. There's an english romhack floating around somewhere. Highly recommend this if you thought Advance Wars was too simple.
The game doesn't have retarded commander bonuses or power ups. There are 3 resources you have to manage and the unit diversity is fucking A++. Dropping commandos behind enemy lines via transport planes to supplement a frontal assault from IFVs and CAS fixed wing aircraft was always my favorite strat.

I think TWEWY is the best JRPG Square Enix has ever done. You can choose when to battle (no random encounters), there's heavy customization, fun shopkeepers, nice character progression and a very creative and fun battle system. Shame there never was a sequel.
