Also some weapons in general were shit but there was a rare that would make them amazing. Swords were not worth it outside of a few partisans were preferred so you can dodge mobs after. Rockets are godlike if you had decent accuracy and played solo or played local (damage canceling was a bitch) duel mech were the best though daggers were average but daylight scar was probably one of the best single target AND rangers can use it. The good rare sabers were really fucking good.
Magic weapons were solely dependent on their innate ability. Glide divine gave you a free trifluid every so often at the cost of hp which was easily cured in 1 heal. Some weapons had magic boost ect

PSO2 also guarantees that you can obtain things you need if you keep playing the game. In PSO, either a red box you need drops, or you are left with literally nothing but wasted time. And even when that happens, either it has decent Hit percents, or it's actual useless garbage.

First shot accuracy for a special is horrible. Each shot you do increases your accuracy first being the worst, the third being the best
Normal shot>Hardshot>special, for accuracy of attack types.
third shot>second shot>first shot. For how accurate each attempt to hit is.
Now combine first shot+special and you'll see how bad it is. This is why we need hit on weapons. If accuracy was global among all strike/shot attempts we wouldn't have as many issues.

A SQ even with 15 hit is good if you are geared properly. The normal/heavy/special combo accuracy is common knowledge even the game tutorial gets into this. However using a SQ when enemies swarm really fast is a waste of time. You're better leaving it to a cast. This is why the SQ is useful. FS is great for PW4 or endgame EP2 but trying to freeze an astark with an FS when you have like 10 bootas and sattelite lizards is just fucking stupid. You pull out the needle or SQ and do work. SQ is great because it puts all enemies at 0EVP so your mates can go to town.
You should try it if you have a character on a private server. I played the offical game so I don't have my shit anymore but I used to run lots of missions and I swear by it.
