I'll start.

Story of Pikmin 4: Since Louie has been left behind again, Olimar must go back to PNF-404, but can't do it alone, so he recruits Alph, Brittany and Charley to help him find Louie. Due to hocotate Freight being under fire for leaving Louie behind yet again, the president is forced to sell their riches gained from Pikmin 2's escapades to pay off lawsuits and and keep the company afloat. An activated president sends olimar off to find more treasure to pay off yet another debt. They first start their journey on PNF-404 by relocating the wreckage of the hocotate Ship that was crashed in Pikmin 3 to salvage the research pod. The pod is used to collect treasures beneath the ground in caves, but can only stay there for a fixed amount of tie due to being somewhat damaged. The research pod and the SS DRAKE also bicker a lot and but heads, due to there being two acting computers guiding the explorers. You collect fruit above ground to give you juice to stay alive while on the planet, but due to the events of Pikmin 3, most of the fruit has been taken, causing there to be less fruit and thus a more strict time limit.

Additionally, I'll be dumping my ideas so far with pictures of shit I took to boot. Each pic is basically what I'm describing.

This would be perfect for the entrance of a cave.

And then it would lead up into a house/building like this, through the pipes leading to the gutters, where you would probably get onto the roof (probably by a pile of leaves that clogged it up), where you would then enter the house through a hole in the roof and slowly work your way down, until the cave is complete. (If you can't tell I really want an area in a pikmin game to take place in a house).

I also had another idea for a cave while I was replacing one of my sprinkler heads in my yard. Like, I had to dig a hole around the sprinkler to be able to get to it, then I twisted the head off (which was a little over half a foot long, so the hole was pretty deep) exposing the pipe. I thought it looked like a cool entrance to a cave, maybe even one like "The Submerged Castle" (the cave in Pikmin 2 that only allows you to take blue pikmin with you), or the "Shower Room" (also a pikmin 2 cave), due to it being a water pump.

The cave could have some creature (presumably one looking for water) that's digging a hole where the sprinkler was outside a house (possibly even the same house I mentioned before) with the actual sprinkler sitting somewhere near it, where the creature pulled it off, then it triggers a cutscene where the creature sees you. After that you battle and kill it, and then you can enter the cave. :^)

I've never wanted to be a game designer, but I sure as fuck want to make a Pikmin game.

[R.O.B. Pikmin Boss. "Possessive Water Wraith" and "The Submerged Kingdom"]

Pt. 1

The "Possessive Water Wraith" is the creature that resides at the lowest possible point of the cave "The Submerged Kingdom." Now, obviously this is a nod to Pikmin 2's Submerged Castle in every conceivable way, but going with the idea that I'd love for there to be an area in Pikmin 4 that takes place entirely in a house, I thought it would be cool to have the The Submerged Kingdom take place in the water system of the house, starting at the exposed pipe where a sprinkler head used to be, due to it being ripped off by a new type of enemy that seems to be looking for water, but more on that later. After entering the cave you work your way through the pipes to find little areas here and there that will be the sub-levels of the cave. After the third sub-level, you begin to follow what seems to be the water wraith from Pikmin 2 only without its stone rollers through each sublevel (while still collecting treasure of course) until you work your way to the sceptic tank of the house, that is full of water (implying that the wraith "eacaped"), trigger a battle with a Ranging Bloyster. After the fight, you take the pipe from the sceptic tank to the shower and bathtub of one of the bathrooms of the house. Collect the treasure, kill the enemies, etc, in the bathtub after falling through to opened shower head, and leave through the drain, noticing that all these ways are suspiciously open enough for something solid to pass through. The drainage pipes lead to the nearby sewer, which is the final sub-level.

Pt. 2

You walk through the corridors of the sewer for a short amount of time, before spotting the Wraith, whom you chase until you reach the drainage area of the sewer where the manhole slightly open, letting in some light. The wraith disappears into the dark, corridor
On the other side. You soon realize that the whole chase was merely a trap, as the wraith has lead you to it's den and weapon of choice to immobilize it's pray: a R.O.B. That had fallen into the sewer via the open manhole. The now possessed R.O.B. Slowly enters the boss room, ready to stack anything up it sees, just to pelt falling pillars of whatever it gets it's hands on, as well as hammer-like slams of it's arms agains the ground, flattening any Pikmin that are caught under it's slender arms. After defeating it, the wraith leaves the robot and seeps into the ground, leaving R.O.B. In pieces, all of which you are able to take back as treasure. The exit is a geyser that lands you in a new area of the house.

I liked that the enemies in 3 felt more "fair" than in 2. Those dungeons held some absolute nightmarish enemies, it wasn't even fun. The last boss of 3 was a neat combination of puzzle and boss fight and the touch controls to automate moving other captains made the whole concept of multiple main characters seem like a useful decision. I'm hoping for more pikmin types and more levels in the future, I love the aesthetic of the game but I hate that they just aren't very long.

Same here. Pikmin 3 to me kind of felt like one step forward, two steps back, in that it made captain management better and had better pikmin than 2, but lacked in creativity outside of the absolutely batshit crazy bosses. More of the craziness of bosses, as well as times caves with more thought put into them would be GOAT.

I fucking love this theme.

Bring back the Piklopedia with Louie's notes

More bosses/larger enemies like Pikmin 2's.

Have the ability to stay on the planet overnight - it's extremely dangerous but it's a risk to take for more treasure and/or Pikmin

Get rid of the story, Pikmin 1 and 2 functioned just fine with a barebones story.

Another cave that would take place in the House themed area could take place in the attic and the air conditioning vents, and eventually in the air conditioner itself (pic related) where ypu eould fight a boss called the "Grappletongued Dustrabbit" which is a literal dust bunny, but in appearance is more pf a mixture of a frog and a rabbit, with it's grapple-tongue and ability to stick to the walls of the conditioning unit.

Entrance to a cave called "TheTermite's Castle." Due the stump's castle-like look and holes eaten out by termites and other bugs. Will probably be insect themed.

Pikmin 2 had infinite days which eliminated that too. Night survival could be an optional addition which is still requires strategy.

As I said, first two were barebones story

>New planet is facing extinction so 3 captains need to go out to a new planet to find a new foodsource. On their way the three are separated so they need to find eachother while still gathering food to stay alive. Along the way they find another person and he steals their food. They also find Olimar's logs and soon find him themselves

It was a needless story that just added waypoints to go to instead of encouraging exploration and discovering things yourself as well as a hell of a lot of cutscenes.

Considering that 3 was much more reminiscent of 1 than 2 I'd like to see 4 readopt the focus on dungeon exploration. I'd also like to see the return of licenced products as treasures with funny observations made on them by the main cast as well as the reinclusion of purple and white Pikmin into the main campaign. Also 2 and 3 have two of the dopest last bosses in vidya history so I hope that trend continues.

Otherwise I don't really care what the game is like so long as it's good. A couple of new types of Pikmin would be nice but not really necessary at this point and I'd prefer if the Hocotate or Koppai crews returned to be the main cast again rather than an entirely new set of characters.

Pikmin is a game where less is more. The last thing I want is for there to be 15 different types of pikmin all with different coloured barriers only they can break, that sounds dumb.
The charm is in the simplicity and honestly I don't think there's room for even 7 (let alone 15) types of pikmin in the next game. Rock and flying were a neat experiment but they don't feel unique enough (especially flying) to replace either white or purple

In a previous game? I don't think so. Closest thing to the inside of a house was the Glutton's Kitchen, which really just took place on a picnic table.

This is just a big ass hole I found that looked like it would make a cool entrance ti a cave. Probably something like a newer version of the snagret hole, with the entire cave being carved out by a giant snagret (bigger than even the one from Pikmin 2)
