Since the genre is in dire need of a breath of fresh air, let's pitch ideas for horror games that will never get made
I'll start:
>first person
>enemy AI like the alien from isolation, could be anywhere doing its own thing or stalking you
>more than one enemy, some are immediately aggressive, some play with you
Hears the catch
>your character is deaf
>you feel vibrations on the controller when something nearby moves
>you could be walking, feel a slight vibration, turn around and realize some nigga has been following you for who knows how long, and you take off running because now it's aggressive.
>or you're not being careful enough and turn a corner to come face to face with a baddie

I think that the absence of music and an oppressive silence can be effective, it would be interesting to see

The sound design would have to be done in an interesting way, no sound at all wouldn't work, maybe have it extremely muffled, or the occasional white noise, maybe the characters heartbeat increases and you somewhat hear it.

Pretty gud. But give us a wat to defend ourselves so it's not just a walking sim like amnesia.

If the sound came through like super muffled almost like your underwater that would be cool.


Here's my idea.

>open world in a big bustling city like NY or something
>PC is just walk in round doin own thang check-in out some stores n Shit maybe.
>slowly more and more of these guys in black robes show up.
>they just watch you from across the street, from Windows etc.
>eventually you hear chanting growing louder and louder
>no one but you notices
>hear a roar of monster behind you
>nobody can see it but you
As you flee through the streets with chanting and the sounds of the monsters following you nobody tries to help nobody runs from the monster nobody even looks at you. They just can't see or hear what's happening.

Give it hiding mechanics like in dumpsters and hobo tents. As well as being able to defend yourself against the robed guys. With like rusted pipes and Shit you find. And maybe use the bystanders as meatshields against the monster I dunno.

>opening the software now leads you to the software used by the facility, open to use but blocked by codes and specific people, which leads to more videos, audio files and archives
>Basically Her Story + Night Trap and This House Has People In It
