The publisher was nice and supportive until after E3 when everyone saw.the game. Then they got all weird and demanding. After we essential said "stop acting weird" they didn't say anything as far as I know for months and months. We just sat there waiting to finish the game.
After two years of waiting I left the company. Then a guy who works for the publisher casually told someone in an interview that they were no longer interested in working on Prey 2. It would've been nice if they had told us earlier instead of waiting every week for years to hear from them.
The game was in a typical production state and could have been released in 2012 if they had let us.

I never played original Prey and I don't give a shit about Prey as a franchise, but Prey 2 was my most anticipated game from the second I saw the first gameplay of it. Blade Runner setting, graphics that STILL look good (imagine how crazy those were 4-5 years ago), functioning parkour, cool aliens, cool gadgets, Cowboy Bebop bounty hunter storyline. That's like my ideal game. I was so fucking excited for Prey 2, it was looking to be my favorite game of all time.
