Why is there no FPS game where players only get one life? It would be so awesome if a game like squad had that kind of pressure put on everyone right from the start.
Counter-Strike doesn't have respawns. You die during the round, you have to wait until the next.
Or do you mean "you die once, you literally cannot play the game ever again"? If that's the case, I don't think you thought this through at all.

Well in Halo 5 there's breakout mode, but it has 5 rounds.
Because people would bitch and moan.
Wizardry Online on the jap servers had permanent death. If you died, your character would be gone, and that's that. People were whining because they were shit and kept getting killed in towns when they talked shit and got hit, and they added in a roll to save your character, like a 30% chance to save your soul at a heavy penalty for a week or two to all your stats.
The english version just added 100% chance to save if you threw down money.
Haven and Hearth has one life. If you die, you die. I miss when /v/ played it every new wipe.
An FPS wouldn't work with that system because of how easy it is to kill. Unless they made it an RPG more than an FPS, like borderlands or destiny or whatever where everything and everyone has gorillions of health.

Probably because the concept of "you die in the game, you can't play again/have to make a new account" doesn't sound very appealing to most players.
Plenty of shooters have one life per round modes
Wizardry online also had perma death for characters but it was shut down a while ago

>internet suddenly decides to shit itself out of nowhere despite never having done so in the past
>other team kills you
>can't play on that account ever again
???

If you die just don't play again, there fixed your autism.

How did this shit pass through Greenlight?

That game looks so bad. I mean, who the fuck is going to buy a game where they could potentially die to a glitch 5 minutes in and never be able to play again?

You never played a game of Search & Destroy?
Zombi on survival mode has it where you only have one life. And if you get bit it's game over too.
It's not a FPS in the tradiitonal sense, but it does have you in first person.
Permadeath doesn't work well in FPS games, closest its ever come to "permadeath" was planetside 1 where if you died, you had to respawn at your closest available spawn, which could be on another planet if you owned no warpgates, and if they didn't have all your shit you had before you died tough shit
Otherwise round by round FPS games are 'permadeath', like counterstrike
Really though, permadeath does not lend itself well to genre's outside of grindy, longplay oriented RPGs like roguelikes or MMOs

It's only good if there could be a way to make it so you can't make a new account after you died. That way only the best could stay on there.

>If you die in this game, you can never play again.
What a genius idea.
Because if you can't learn the game through trial and error, the game has to be really fucking simple. And doing something really simple until you die is called "working", and it already exists.

There is anon, and the few that exist want you to pony up some major cash just to play it and die and never be able to play again. If they made them cheaper or did a round system that'd be fine.
