Bit Crusade 2 is a sequel to the first campaign I made, see the thumbnail for more. My take on a classic 1-1 to 8-4, with world theming, secrets, bosses and the like.

Start here: 1-1: Back to Basics A839-0000-00D8-1BD7

Or if you've been keeping up, the latest world.

World 3
3-1: Old Friends Unite! DB01-0000-00E3-A082
3-2: Flying Beetle Rides 0E2A-0000-00E6-4168
3-3: Rescue the Yoshi Family C879-0000-00E7-2F51

Bumping to give this thread a chance at life.

I'm still busy grinding in ToS though, so I ain't got nothin else.

I guess I could pose some questions to start discussion.

What do you guys think of the new website being made and do you think it'll really help anything? Will you be using it? Are we going to share levels we find from it? I feel most people won't use it if it isn't directly in the game, same way splatnet is a thing but I've logged into it a grand total of once. Maybe it might help the normies find stages.
>>
I'm learning about level design and game aesthetics the more I play this game.

I've made a few Dark Souls themed levels, if you'd like to give them a shot

>Undead Asylum
F58D-0000-00DD-90B9

>Firelink Shrine
EBAF-0000-00C9-F2D3

>Upper Undead Burg
5027-0000-00E1-E6D3

The first two have been generally well received from the feedback I've gotten. Only one person has passed Upper Undead Burg so far though.

I can relate, I been playing FO4 and am kinda itchin to go back to it.

I'm intrigued by the website, though I was kinda hoping for more. It's a start though, I'll throw all my shit up on it and see how much traffic changes I guess. An in game search update would be nice to go with it.

I'll go through all these once I finish the one above.

And my new level, Ashley's Blue Mansion

I'll be playing through most levels posted here, post your hardest ones and I'll try to clear them.

Deus Ex Magikoopa: Check & Point
4E69-0000-00D8-78B4

This course has four pseudo-checkpoint doors in the first half and two real checkpoints in the second half. It's a long journey, but there are no cheap deaths and plenty of item generators.

My usual offer still stands. If anyone beats it, I'll play everything you've made.

Progress is going slowly but smoothly on the sequel. Expect to see even more crazy gizmos.
>>
>>316516965
>auto shit
ehhhh
>>
>>316517140
It's not auto at all. There are some chain-reaction gizmos that you need to trigger to progress. It plays like a Metroid game.
>>
>>316514609
Pretty gud, nice looking scenery and some neat boss fights.

Haven't actually played any Dark Souls games, but I have played and enjoyed Bloodborne. Would I be able to get into them?

Thanks man! Like Dark Souls 1, I want some of the bosses to be optional, and I want to reward the player for playing well and punish them for fucking up.

If you liked Bloodborne you'll like Dark Souls 1. There's that whole looping level design thing going on in them. DS2 is a different studio and feels a little different but still a fun game all in all.

This one isn't so hot. I like the way the rooms are set up and figuring out how to escape, but the one after the second checkpoint is too much, and you must have hidden yoshi really well, cause I gave up at the saw bridge. Needs some work, but the idea is good.

I had a lot of fun. You're very creative with boss battles, and you have some serious skill at designing interesting courses. The only one that I really disliked was 7-1.

>Some kid posts this on the Miiverse post for one of my levels.
>He even posted it from Miiverse itself instead of in-game so I wouldn't get any stars.
I can't tell whether it was someone from /v/ shitposting or some kid who was actually being serious.
I looked through his levels and they were pretty much all auto-scrolling levels so I think he might have been genuine.
The level for context: 54C5-0000-00D5-3AED
It's not even an fake automatic level that starts automatic with an instant death trap. It's just a normal level with name suggesting it's automatic so this person sat and watched as a Goomba slowly walked towards them, didn't move and then called it a bad level when they got hit and died.
I'm not sure what I feel.
>>
>>316517746
>>316513612
Playing through these now- really having fun so far! Great themes in the levels.
>>
>>316514386
Took me a while to figure out how to do everything, but it's alright. Some neat concepts, though I would like to not have to wait such a long time for Yoshi to spawn at the last checkpoint.
>>
>>316518842
I actually enjoy automatic parodies where you have to break out somewhere along the way to make it through.

What's the name of it? If you know the name will make people think it's a true automatic, then you should expect some morons to react like that. That one still might have been sarcastic, though.
>>
Is this game worth getting if you, well, don't actually want to make levels?
>>
>>316519472
If you play stuff posted on /v/, yes. Otherwise, 100 Mario Challenge will give you mostly garbage.

Cool to hear. Shame about 7-1 though, I was trying to go for an aerial bouncy castle pinball zone with that one and it seems to be hit or miss for most people. Ah well, 1 outta 40 ain't so bad so no regrets lol, did you have a favorite? I await your next level eagerly.

>>316519143
Thank you, I do my best. You start with the first one or the second? Also I finished the three you posted, and now I feel like playing the Souls games again. Nice homage to the series and great visuals. Following.

I started from 1-1, I'll work my way through them over the next few days with the other GGI guys.

And thanks again, I had a lot of fun making them. Did you tackle the dragon or were you big-Mario enough to break the blocks and take the shortcut?

People in these threads need to reciprocate more. If I post my levels and make an effort to play yours it'd be nice if you at least tried mine (even if they do suck).
>>
>>316519369
It's called AUTOMATIC!DON'TMOVENOMATTERWHAT!
As soon as the level starts, it's clear to see it's not actually an automatic.
People are just really intent on believing anything in video games.
>>
>>316520040
>did you have a favorite?
Honestly, I tore through them so quickly that I can't remember most of the numbers. I should try to replay some to find my favorites. I'll also check out your new stuff.
>I await your next level eagerly.
It's taking me an embarrassingly long time, but I'll have it done eventually. More than once, I've blown an entire evening just testing out different types of multi-stage unlocking mechanisms.

I feel beyond retarded for forgetting to put a ceiling there, especially with all the people who got stuck in the comment section.

No tricks, no gimmicks, just a simple platforming level I designed for beginners.
