Hiraganas by themselves aren't enough to describe every voice, so some are used in a subindex like fashion. If I recall correctly it's one of the first things in Genki, if you really want to get on the level of confident translating, that should be one of the first steps.

Remember Choir? Remember when Binbou Scanlation said they'd translate the rest of it like 2 years ago? Well...I kind of put too much on my plate back then when it came to choosing projects and real life problems made things far worse later down the road.
I've decided to throw scripts for Choir into the ether and just let things happen. This is mainly because we can't get a dedicated editor for anything. So here are the final chapters of volume 2 (scripts for volume 3 coming eventually).

From what I can tell high profile artists are defensive about their work. Nae is one. The low profile ones like NOTO (the ones I translated) was pretty chill and quite frankly she was flattered her stuff got translated to English.

We're almost done finalizing the RanSora doujin, but there are some lines that are very difficult to translate - "Sora's kuru kuru kyawawa."
Sora uses a few variants like:

icha icha kyawawa/fuwawa

If you want to avoid gutter shadow you're going to have to bend the spine a lot, or take the doujin apart. You scanned in 300dpi, so that's fine. But in order to avoid bleed through you need to place a sheet black paper behind the page. And you should also turn up the contrast and brightness settings on your scanner. Because a scanner can capture detail more accurately than leveling in photoshop. But not too high, just enough to get the white part of the page close to being white.

And really, there is always going to be dust on the scanner, you just can't help it. Plus, paper is not perfect, so when you scan it the small scratches in it become more obvious.

You should save it as a png, and leave it at around 3000px. Because if you don't level an image at a high resolution it damages the screentones.

It's up to the person, really. A jpg is somewhat smaller in file size, but has much more compression. For color pages, that is. If you can afford a larger file size go with jpg. If you need to save space go with 90-100% quality jpg.
For gray scale pages a png will always be smaller than a jpg. Assuming you are saving in 90-100% quality jpg. A low quality jpg might be smaller than a png, but it will get ruined by jpg artifacts.
In case you didn't know, you can set actions with photoshop and it will bulk save however you want.
