/r/gameofthrones has just come up with an alternative idea to the Dorne storyline, it's obviously better than D and D's because anyone can write better than him.
Here's a challenge to /got/ -- 3 hours to rewrite all of Game of Thrones up to Season 6. But there's a few rules:
1. Certain events/characters that were only in the books have to be on the show, this includes:
> Battle of the Whispering Wood. The full thing up until Jaime's capture.
> Arianne Martell, Quentyn Martell, Jeyne Westerling, Val, Aegon and Jon Con must all be in the show
2. Same budget, so that means S1 will have to be thought about very carefully
3. 4 characters (that aren't listed above) that weren't in the show have to be chosen.
4. How much screen-time dedicated to each storyline must be listed for each season, this will be done in minutes.

This thread is stupid. Book Dorne is fine as a story, GRRM just fucked up the pacing of it because he stretched out the entire story but kept them in too early. Sending the Snakes to find Dany is completely fucking retarded.
Just have the one season of the Sand Snakes and Arianne trying to crown Myrcella with Doran stopping their scheme. Jaime goes to Dorne with Gregor's skull and Cersei whispering into his ear to bring Myrcella back, and after a bit of spying and talking to Doran he decides to leave Myrcella in Dorne because it's the only place in Westeros not currently ravaged by war and doesn't appear likely to be in the near future. Doran gives the girls his speech about grass and snakes and things are put in motion.
Lady Nym goes back to King's Landing to take the seat on the Council, Tyene secretly joins so she can infiltrate the Faith, Bronn stays in Dorne as Myrcella's bodyguard and hunts down dissenters with Obara, and Arianne waits for either the Aegon plot to happen or is used as a point of contact for Dany if that's how they take things. When Jaime gets back to KL Cersei denounces him for not bringing Myrcella back which frees him up to go out into the Riverlands and evolve into Ser Goldhand the Just.

Showing the battle in the Whispering Wood is stupid, it's supposed to happen out of sight. It's not an interesting battle on its own, it's just the fallout of the Battle at the Green Fork.

Season 2: Robb meets Jeyne same scene/episode where he meets Talisa. She was stopping in Oxcross on the way to Lannisport when Robb's army attacked. She decided to stay behind and help the wounded, knowing she would be taken hostage. Robb admires her self-sacrifice. She becomes a part of why Robb argues with Roose to show mercy to their captives. Robb has a nice chat with her during interrogation. Ep6, Catelyn comes back from the Stormlands and advises Robb to use Jeyne as a bargaining chip, but Robb argues her family is too low standing to be useful. Catelyn senses that he's lying and he's falling for her. They find out Theon betrayed them and took Winterfell. At the end of ep6, Catelyn sets Jaime free. (No Lannister cousin/messenger subplot). When Robb hears about the escape, he rashly joins the search himself (he's a bit crazy from worrying about Winterfell), he ends up shot at on the road by stray Lannister men and gets wounded. At first it's not so bad, but eventually it festers and he's bedridden. Jeyne comforts him and they bang. Honor-bound, Robb marries her.
Season 3: Jeyne gets pregnant and Red Wedding'd.

Season 5: End of season, reveal Trystane is Aegon, son of Rhaegar. (He's not really.)
Season 6: Doran reveals the Sand Snakes' retarded plot worked to his advantage; he wanted Myrcella and Tommen dead so he could marry Trystane to Margaery and they could take the throne. He executes Ellaria and sends her head to the Lannisters, to convince them he's innocent and to not kill Trystane. He sends the Sand Snakes to secretly get Trystane out of the Lannister's hands (Obara), free Margaery from the Faith (Nymeria) and assassinate Tommen (Tyene). Tyene goes through with it, but she gets caught by Bronn. She's mad at Doran for killing her mom so she lets it slip to Bronn that Doran was plotting against the Lannisters all along. Bronn at this point can't get close to Cersei, who's driving everyone away from her, so he sends a message to Jaime, who is in the Riverlands after his falling out with Cersei. Jaime burns the message. Cersei goes on blaming the Faith and the Tyrells and ends up launching a civil war; Trystane and Margaery hook up and the Martell/Tyrell alliance take King's Landing together with the Faith, who approve of Margaery. Loras personally comes after Cersei, and she escapes below the Red Keep and blows up King's Landing.

Make the friggin GENDRY Aegon and tie him into both Varys and Martell plots. Or just let Aegon stay the same he was in the books as a game-changer (since he adapted the Tyrion's travels storyline exactly the same, except without Gryffs)
