Im from a third world country. I remember a comercial that aired at 12:00 Pm saying: "6 days left to the zero day".
Allways in the comercials at late night of that week, they showed a black screen with white letters saying "5 days left", "4 days left", (You get it) until the week ended.
My dad and I, were the "only ones" of my family that knew about that shit.
The last day, was a timer that started from 11:00 Pm to 1:00.

Example. Cat jumps down from my window, she would come in through it, 2nd floor. So she had to climb up my house to do it. She jumps down, walks out the door. I call to her, no response, which was strange. 10 second later, she jumps down from the window again. She didn't jump back up and she couldn't have gotten round in 10 seconds. Thinking she was just bugging for food (again, she would meow or jump on me for that) I call to her, this time she responded, I got up and went with her downstairs. The way my Dad had been talking about them made it sound like they were no longer current and that he was just asked to clean them out. What was in them was super fucking chilling. They were basically guidelines of how NOT to divulge incidences of public water contamination and how long certain contaminants could be within "tolerances" before having to issue a statement to emergency services for a public safety alert. It was a seriously sketchy piece of work, even teenage me could tell. The wording of it was so evil. They were basically willing to poison people slowly if it meant they could fix the issue under the radar before it really got anyone sick or dead.

Me, my mother and him lived in the woods. since my father never liked the idea of living near the city.
We never went to the beach, or had Xmass gifts, or had quality time outside of learning over and over again how the world soon was going to end and that's why I had to learn to drink my own piss if I had to.
One time I tried to keep a dog as pet since I was not even allowed to see tv, so I started to feed with leftovers this stray friendly dog that sometimes came near the house. and he started to hangout near us all the time. So my father killed him in front of me since "keeping a pet alive would cut us 10 years of food and resources inside the bunker" and tried to make me eat some of his remains because "a dog is meat and in the apocalypse you will not have a choise" I cried and he punched me, but at least he stopped with the whole eat the dog thing.
My mom one day had enough and took part of his "doomday savings" from a chest he had hidden in the house, to buy me some new clothes, new shoes and some other things she needed like a new griddle.
When my father saw me with new cloths and shit he inmediatly knew since we all were dressed like hobos all the time and we could only bathe like twice a week.
Long story short, he punched me, my mom tried to defend me, I went to hide, they screamed at each other and them he killed my mom,started to look for me, he gave up and sit down, and then he killed himself.
From there I went the road of life was still pretty bad and I have constant nightmares over my father and the end of the world.

So after that I ended up growing on an state institution, then I became a minimal paid wageslave, moved to live in the woods in a shitty house that I could barely afford after finally selling my father's house, since fuck living in the house where my parents died. However I could finally keep pets.
Some years ago I had three dogs, strays that came near my house and I befriended, so this particular day one of my "neighboors" and some local police dude who was friends with him drives to my house to talk me about an issue on the community.
Apparently some pets were starting to go missing and he came to ask me if some of my dogs were missing too (He probably though that I was the one stealing the pets since I was the lone guy living in the woods after all, and probably came to caught me or something).
I don't knew shit about it, they didn't find anything, they left.
About two weeks later the youngest doggie Sally went missing, and I started to look for her in the woods, figured she probably wandered too far.
After searching for 3 hours I found some kind of trial, improperly made, obviously the work of amateurs, I followed it up and I found like some kind of ritual grounds, rocks with weird symbols, condoms all over the place, and like 20 or 30 dogs killed, very gruesome shit, and Sally was among them.
I was obviously very mad and sad over the issue. I returned to my house, I called the police and showed them the place.
They STILL were suspecting me and never found the responsibles, for several days I went in the night to the place to catch them if they ever came back but never got lucky.
