There's really weren't any glaring flaws that could justify anything like the reaction it got from critics. I mean, it's not perfect. Some parts were a bit rushed, some scenes weren't shot as well as they could've been, the budget could've been bigger, etc. but the actors all performed well, tension was built well, the sets looked quite good and the writing was decent. I can't explain it. And that disparity between critic and user scores seems fishy to me.

This movie is incredibly watchable. My dad always hated it because "not enough water to flood that much and it would be raining all the time" and it never rains in the movie. Science frustrated him.
