What went wrong, /tv/?

it set up one of the most powerful moral dilemmas in recent memory and then wasted it.

the dancing scene with oscar isaac should have been the start of this descent into madness but instead feels odd and out of place.

Nothing, actually.

In the story, or box office? Be more specific you lazy fuck.

If you don't think the story is stilted then you really suck at life.

Exactly how dense, or incapable of comprehension are you?
The story was fine. Was inquiring as to what specifically stating the story as in the intending conflicts within the story.

Don't you feel dense now? THINK before not posting.

the music was pretty neat

The whole setting seemed convoluted to tell the story they wanted to.

> one of the wealthiest manlets on earth lives alone in a remote location with security or even a Doctor more than 6 hours away even though he's a health nut by day and a fall-down drunk at night because HE'S A QUIRKY RICH GUY!
> entire mansion sealed like a panic room to make up for (see first point)
> builds robots on his own in absolute secrecy because (see first point)
> invites a total stranger he has never met before in his life into his Fortress R&D&Solitude as a lab partner because (see first point)
> the best way to test sentience in a robot is to have it learn to lie and manipulate because drug addicts are the only people who write scripts for (((Hollywood)))

It was a budget movie that had amazing effects.

Her looking like a robot was not needed at all. It was put in there simple because it's an AMAZING EFFECT.

Turing test is suppose to be done with a double blind.

One guy was not testing her at all.

The movie was about an alpha, a beta, and a literally objectified women, and a virgin.

It's not really an interesting story. There's nothing interesting to think about other then the massively stupid decisions made by one of the most intellgent people.

It's like thinking about why Einstein didn't flush after taking a massive dump: The Movie

Better???
>>
>>72092305
It did well in the box office, the visuals are obviously well done, the acting was good, the set and pacing wasn't bad, it's just the narrative lacked.

It's like Blade Runner, but frankly it's still one of the best in it's field. It's more upsetting that there's not better sci-fi.

OP whomever that was (you or not) wasn't specific enough in asking:"What went wrong?", so instead of admitting the obvious confusion of such a broad question, you'd rather resort to insults with no real basis.

If you're here to discuss the movie let's do that, but if you're here to insult, we're done.

Blade Runner, as brilliant as it was dwelt with a different kind of artificial android. Blade Runner seemed to lean more towards sci-fi type androids based mostly on the science of the time.

Ex Machina was based on current knowledge of androids, or artificial intelligence.

Comparing the two can only be done in a broad sense as artificial androids, avoiding the specifics of what each type was constructive of.

Blade Runner androids are almost human, being engineered down to an almost genetic level, where as Ex Machina is based in more hardware, and fictional based predictions pf technology.

Both are different kinds of androids, within a different set of rules with a different kind of story.

Thank you for the correction. That is so sweet of you.

The Asian was a top-tier qt

She was decent in Danish Girl, but she's such a dull actress in most everything. I can't believe people were giving her performance praise in this.

We're mostly incapable of thinking of a bright and happy future. TBQH what will happen in reality is the intelligence of Ava would have been nuked to fuck. She'd then be a mass produced little fuckbot for all men everywhere. Complete with adaptable fetish settings based on your porn history... But the second we start thinking about the technological breakthroughs just over the horizon we get all sweaty and nervous and can only see doom and gloom. This fear is probably a good thing though. It's evidence we're going to have about fifty billion failsafes in place before we ever turn a real AI on.

Are you aware that the stock-markets are run by artificial bots that determine when to pull money in or out of trading based on set parameters?
>>
It had the second worst ending possible which was monster killing the creator meme.

Worst ending would have been if Caleb got out with his waifu and lived happily ever after.
>>
>>72095356
>monster killing

She wanted to be free. Caleb held Eva captive. Caleb can be seen as a monster too depending on how you choose to view it..
>>
>>72092569
her looking like a robot was important for the movie, it adds on to her being "literally objectified".
That's why she puts on the skin at the end
>>
>>72093656
That's what he meant. They're robots so they're LITERALLY objects. I cringe everytime I see the phrase "objectified woman" though.
