Pretty pathetic for a movie of this size.

>won't reach #1

$144 million

Jurassic World had a $150 million budget and made $80 million opening day

>Fifty Shades of Grey made $30 million opening day

>Will drop by at least 60% next weekend
>Denied release in China
>Needs to make $500 Million to break even

It would need to make at least $100 Million this weekend to be financially successfully
>>
>That's quite a bit higher than Sony's $38 million - $40 million estimates,

The classic "under-promise over-deliver"

>actually the biggest live-action opening since X-Men: Apocalypse was released back in May.

That's not a good thing

>With a B+ CinemaScore,

FUCKING TOP KEK
>>
Independence Day 2 had similar numbers and everyone called it a bomb, this is only slightly better. But then we have

>Trek & Ice Age next week
>Jason Bourne after that
>Suicide Squad after that

Its gonna have to pull some Casino Royale kinda legs here to be a real success to justify a cinematic universe and even if it does it will still have to heavily rely on foreign money and if the last few Feig movies are taken into account foreign audiences will largely ignore it. Also not coming out in china is a potential $100 million loss.

They should study this article in conjunction with 1984, because this is some legitimate doublethink, right here.

>It's doing pretty well!
>But it's not doing very well at all

>The scores are rigged by misogynists
>But no one's watching it

Confirmed dead in the water.
