Okay so this flopped and was as terrible as everyone said it would be.
But a genderswapped ghostsbusters was not a bad idea IMO, they just did everything wrong.
How could we make it work?
My idea is to make a movie guys actually want to see. Four cute girls with different personalities playing the ghostsbusters in a movie made for the original target audience + normal people.
A movie that's all for the original audience and made to be enjoyed by them and not taken so seriously, like an anime gender swap but in live action.
Instead i think this movie bombed for three clear reasons.
1. The girls were ugly as hell.
2: the movie was just plain terrible.
2. the marketers thought attacking the target audience and calling them sexist was going to sell movies.
Am I right guys? Give me your thoughts.

I don't think the girls needed to be hot.
The originals had a very different tone. It wasn't a high octane, wacky humor, fart joke slapstick action movie.
The original was 4 friends who were put in weird or interesting situations but were regular guys. They were relatable and felt like real people, if a bit quirky or weird. We didn't mind that they were middle aged.
The new cast sucks because they don't feel like friends or real people. They feel like characatures. Imo the whole movie feels like an episode of some nickalodeon sitcom. Stupid one dimensional people who exist only as a dumb joke delivery system. A glib fascimile.
