The first time I watched S2 I fucking hated and almost stopped watching. I did a Wire rewatch recently and it was much better this time, I didn't hated it, I think the port shit at the beginning was too slow.

for me S1 almost had me stop watching altogether. it was too slow, it took too much time doing too little. Watched till about ep 5 for the first time, then forgot all about it for a few months. Rewatched then was I only able to 'get' the charm and pacing of the show and was hooked since then.
