Correct answer. Originally Fox, everyone involved want some 2 or 3 more movies, not just one. New characters would be introduced, the Leia-Luke-Han love triangle expanded and Lukes sister introduced, NOT Leia.
With 1 movie left, the line needed to be resolved, so Leia was made Lukes sister to end the series.
