Im not the anon telling you you need to have had a gf to "get" the movie, but the point of the movie is to illustrate the concept that its better to love a person despite their flaws and enjoy the journey, than to give up on a relationship because the person you dated didn't meet your preconceived notions of what a significant other should be.
