You look at movies like London Has Fallen, and every other review was "The perfect film for Trumps America." Every review now has to have some sort of slant to it, whether its political, social, whatever is in at that moment.

I watched Ghostbuster 1 and 2 last week for the first time in 15-20 years.
And even if they are enjoyable, they are really not that great. There is quite literally a single ghostbusting in the first one. One, then it's straight to ZUUL.

Also, that whole thing was put together so if the studio wanted to make it PG-13 they'd only have to make a few small edits - i.e. CGI blood, quick shots of nudity with no main actors in them, and f-bombs that are all said off screen or by characters without mouths. It wasn't funny. Nor was a deconstruction of anything.

It has above average writing to make ignorant geeks think they're consuming some complex work of art but in reality, it is nothing more than a shallow capeshit in disguise of something more. I went with my mother because she is liking the Captain American movies and had no idea who Deadpool was, (I just gave her the bare bones explanation he's a guy who can heal like wolverine and break the 4th wall.) she ended up finding the movie amusing.
