Cersei taunting the septa doesn't negate anything about her character. She could both enjoy killing Robert (she hated him, after all) and did it for practical reasons too. She was clearly "confessing" to her to shock her right before the Mountain rape. And how was she not protecting Tommen? She tried to keep him safe, she had no way of knowing he would kill himself. It might of been short sighted and selfish of her not to expect him to get hurt but then, that's in keeping with her character.
Preston also seems to forget that not everyone would automatically know it was Cersei. Marg knew for no real reason but she and everyone who heard her died. Wildfire is known to be unpredictable, Cersei could just say it was an accident or blame it on Tyrion or some shit.
Also the Sparrow's plan made perfect sense. Him getting control of Tommen and ousting Cersei was to his benefit.
Marg also seemed to plan to ally herself with the Sparrow to get her family to safety and might have had a plan to scheme him out of power. We can't fully say what her plan was but she was clearly planning something.
And Olenna inheriting Highgarden (or ending up as a representative of it) was also perfectly reasonable.

I think that the stories revolve around separate entities and are originally presented lumped together as a single individual.
Why I see Jon as the last hero is the story really reminds me of Jon seeking out mance post wilding attack on the wall. Seeking him out to kill him knowing he'd be boiled alive and comes to the prospect of a sort of deal before stannis swoops in.
Jaime I see as the lord of light who's story is in conflict with bran. Jaime being King Arthur / King Mydas / King James and Tyr the one handed god from norse mythology.
Fenrir is the winged wolf who swallows the sun come ragnarok and was also bound by Tyr until he breaks free come the end of days. They also die slaying eachother.
Bran being the winged wolf will be dragon related. Interesting he describes jaime during his tower fall arc as a lord of light armoured like the sun. When flying in said sequence he is embraced by icicle spears and is struck with pure fear when confronted by the shining lord.
Also the words in high valyrian lord and light and gold hand are almost identical with a two letter difference hinting at an error in translation over time.
Brienne I see as lightbringer, one of the last true and pure knights of the realm who helps Jaime on his path towards redemption.
Another interesting thing is King arthurs love triangle with the queen and ser lancelot is somewhat similar to jaime, cercei and lancel.

What should happen is she arrives and begins plotting. She uses the same disguise as before since she thinks she can get away with it, but Jaimie catches her in the act. Cersei would be extremely paranoid, but the combined attack of Dany/Dorne/Tyrell army distracts her.
Bonus points: Arya does come into contact with the Brotherhood Without Banners before going to King's Landing and enlists their help through some means. This puts Hound on the scene at last to fight Zombie Mountain.

This is a show about medieval'ish era fantasy. There's zero reason to whine or question the realism when close to 100% of the rulers are men; It's how it happen in real societies of this degree of civilization.
