Haven't touched it since childhood, but I've been on a fucking mega binge with it. It's just so perfect.
For as popular as 'reality tv' is, I don't see anything like this, so unmolested anymore.

Back in the 90's, I loved this show and thought this was how most cops were in the US. My uncle Jim (ex-deputy) was scornful because he was certain a lot of those guys were acting humble on camera.

Now that smartphones and WiFi have allowed citizens to record police brutality and instantly upload it on the Internet, we're starting to see more and more incidents that would've been covered up in prior decades.

Doesn't bother me. Show was never intended to be a definitive account of police activity in America.

I preferred America's Most Wanted. It's a real shame that it got canned because it did a lot of good work in apprehending criminals. Cops was shameless reality TV.

Nah. Took too long on any one subject for my taste. Spawned a whole bunch of true crime bullshit TV shows and wasn't much better, honestly.

Cops got in and got out before a commercial break. It excelled at it.

I really enjoyed the earlier seasons. It seemed like it was more dangerous but alot more fun to be a cop.
