Can we talk about this? I watched it last night and I'm going to be honest I didn't really understand much of it, if someone could help me understand it or just give your opinion on it it'd be nice.

Not as good as Mulholland Drive
Filming in digital was a huge mistake. It looks like an early YouTube video.
I love Lynch but this was just eh, throwing stuff at the screen.

Probably Lynch's worst movie.
Its basically visual diarrhea. I dont know how he still gets away with it.

>STOP LIKING WHAT I DON'T LIKE! EVERYONE'S SO PRETENTIOUS ARRRRGH
Know why you're plebs? Not because you don't like the film, but because you refuse to accept someone might actually like something you don't, or understand something you don't. Also,
>implying you have to understand a film to enjoy it

surrealism isn't supposed to be understood.

That depends entirely on the author. In Lynch's case, his films can definitely be understood and analyzed. Inland Empire is no exception, although it's probably his most cryptic work by far.
Some anon posted this the other day, it's a pretty good read: http://xixax.com/halfborn/

Were you on drugs? You should have been on drugs. Or at least drunk.
There's also whole websites dedicated to explaining theories about it.
everything in the movie is real.
