I disagree. I think he just geniuenly disliked him almost disgusted by him thats why he tells him how much better his brother is doing almost to rub salt into the wound. He was basically swatting a fly.

Daniel even lied about how much money he gave Paul. I still think by embarrassing Eli and making him renounce God, then killing him was making a place in Hell for Eli. He does that, then shows Eli his life was really shit no matter how much he trusted in God.

Even if Daniel doesn't believe in God, making Eli do it would possibly place him in Hell. Idk, I always thought that.

Oh, that wasn't me in the past post. I just made that one you quoted. I don't agree with Daniel feeling guilty about anything other than not being able to change how he is. He loved HW, the flash back shows he really did love that kid. Even though he used him, he still felt grateful for the boy's company. It's honestly the only good thing Daniel ever did in his life was raise the boy after his father died.
