So people who watched the premiere screenings are saying it's actually a pretty good movie.

Could positive word-of-mouth save it from a seemingly disappointing box office performance? It's only tracking for a $60 million opening weekend.

>Idris Elba is in this

What's the point if they're just gonna cake him in make-up and prosthetics?
>>
Why has this gotten almost zero publicity?

I only knew it existed since a few days ago
>>
TrekCore is saying there's some really gay shit in it and are consequently now celebrating on Twitter.
>>
This is going to bomb, it's pretty obvious. Critical reaction to Into Darkness was poor and it's been accepted in pop culture as being a poor film so this has that hanging over it. The trailers didn't show anything that actually made me feel excited about it and all the promotional campaign around it doesn't feel like it's going to get anyone who hasn't seen the previous films to go and see it.

Well considering I rate Star Trek Into Darkness an 8/10 I will probably go see this one.

Looks like Ender's Game, which is another way of saying it looks like shit.
Also, they're pushing the fag 'white people should be proud to buttfuck themselves out of existence' agenda.
Not even gonna' bother.

Where are you seeing this positive word of mouth? Also a $60m opening would be fine, no Star Trek movie has made over $500m worldwide. They are solid money makers for paramount, not giant blockbusters.

People who have seen it have posted generally positive reviews on the usual outlets for the franchise. Also the plot has leaked pretty much in its entirety and sounds okay.

Dude if you want to like JJ Trek that's your business but please watch TOS.

>Critical reaction to Into Darkness was poor

It's at 86% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Just because /tv/ hates it doesn't mean the whole world does.

How good do you think the death bump will be?
