Cult classic or unfunny garbage?
>>
>>71721200
If Noel Fielding is involved, the answer is always unfunny garbage.
>>
>>71721200
I didn't like it, everyone else seemed to at the time
>>
>>71721200
if it's only occasionally funny when stupidly high...
>>
Literally MySpace scene girl level humor.
>>
I liked it then and I like it now. Arctic for best episode
>>
Liked it when it was on and it's still alright now. May just be because I can still see what I liked about it before. If I watched it for the first time now, I'd probably not enjoy it
>>
>>71721200
A friend recommended it to me because I like British humor. I kinda thought it was shit.
>>
BOUNCY BOUNCY
OOOH SUCH A GOOD TIME

It's either amazing or meh, with very little in between

I loved a lot of the Channel 4 comedies (Brass Eye, Garth Merenghi, IT Crowd etc.) but I didn't really get Mighty Boosh, didn't find it funny.

>mfw literally everyone I knew kept parroting Old Gregg
>>
>>71721200
I love it, but I can understand why someone wouldn't
>>
>>71722167
That's because Mighty Boosh lacked Chris Morris
>>
>>71721324
If you have to be baked out of your mind to enjoy something it probably isn't very good to begin with. Any enjoyment or perceived "quality" is just a side effect from the distorted sense of reality caused by the drug.
>>
>>71721200
I liked it, but I was also around 17 when it was airing so I'm not sure how it would hold up against my current jaded self.
>>
>>71721200

It has its moments some episodes are a fucking bore to watch some were really entertaining and funny.
>>
>>71721200
>>71721679

My brother recommended it to me and I tried to like it. While I love Monty Python style humor, and I went in thinking it would be kind of like that, yeah I hated this.
>>
yeah probably one of the biggest hit or miss shows of all time. But when it hit, it hit fucking hard.
Nightmare of milky joe is a masterpiece.
>>
Ya like cockney yoo-rine all over yer face?
>>
>>71721505
>I liked it then and I like it now.
>>
The humor never felt organic.
>>
I love the chosen one
>loving him is so much fun
I love him with all my heart
>I love him with my body part
>>
Might Boosh is pretty GOAT, I wouldn't call it hit or miss my any measure, it just has a very idiosyncratic sense of humour. Still has some of the funniest comedy one liners of any show from the mid 2000's.

Howard Moon: I'm an explorer.
Vince Noir: I thought you were a writer?
Howard Moon: I do many things. I span the genres - they call me the genre spanner.
Vince Noir: Yeah, they call you the spanner...
...
Vince Noir: [grabbing book] Look at this one!
Naboo: Don't touch that!
Vince Noir: All right! Easy!
Naboo: This is black magic. This is hardcore. Don't mess with the occult.
Vince Noir: I thought it was good for you.
Naboo: What?
Vince Noir: Well, you know, good for your digestive system.
Naboo: That's Yakult!
Vince Noir: Oh, yeah...

>used to have a coworker obsessed with this show
>one day asked her for book recommendations because i wanted to read more
>"oh you should read this book called stockholm syndrome, it's really good."
>look it up
>mfw it's a mighty boosh version of 50 shades of grey
>>
>>71724178
>a mighty boosh version of 50 shades of grey
What does that even mean famawitz?
>>
>>71724274
I mean in it Julian Barrett fucks and spanks Noel Fielding and Noel Fielding is tied up and calls him daddy.
>>
>>71721200
can't take anyone who considers themselves a rockstar with a haircut like that seriously
>>
>>71722167
Garth Marengi and IT Crowd are god-tier. Mighty Boosh was never funny.

Best it got out of me was the occasional chuckle. I would genuinely lose it to some bits on IT Crowd.
>>
I liked the anything with the monkey or wizards as a focus. Howard was okay but Noel Fieldings character was just annoying more times than not.

Its meh compared to other brit comedies with similar casts and absurdist humor. Anything by Matt Berry comes to mind as 100% better. But it's not garbage.
>>
The Gary Numan and jazz jokes always got me
>>
Most of the time I find it weird and pointless but there's one episode that is absolutely GOAT

>Howard and Vince get kicked off cruise ship
>left on a deserted island
>to keep from going crazy they invent cocount friends
>Vince creates two coconut girlfriend
>cuck Howard begs to be set up with one the coconut girls
>Vince reluctantly introduces them
>Howard coconut girl hit it off
>go on double dates with Vince and his coconut girlfriend
>one night after a drunken argument Howard hits his coconut girlfriend
>she cracks her head and bleeds out
>Vince walks in on Howard trying to put her back together
>they try to hide the body
>get caught by the coco popo
>they go on the run
>arrested after shootout with coco cops
>coconut trial
>coconut judge sentences them to medeval stocks
>coconut children throw smaller coconuts at them
>their roommate arrives on the island to take them home
>they were overdosing on spoiled coconut milk the whole time
>>
Varies by episode. Very hit and miss
>>
I'M OLD GREGGGGGG
>>
>>71721200
I liked it but preferred the boosh radio series
>>
It resonates with a certain age group who grew up with shows like the Banana Splits and the Electric company and the music their parents listened to like the Rolling Stones and the Beatles. For me, it hits the sweet spot.
>>
>>71725128
Hands down best episode. Everyone always references Old Gregg but Milky Joe is so much better
>>
>>71725303
I respectfully disagree as I consider Nanageddon to be superior.
>>
>>71725265
This
>>
Anyone else love The Mighty Boosh but can't stand Noel Fielding's Luxury Comedy?
>>
>>71725672
I got a couple laughs from it, but it's pretty cringy yeah
>>
>>71724403
>take seriously
>a comedic character
sounds pretty effective to me m8
>>
>>71725303

Old Greg is the fucking weirdest thing where I'm from. Everyone's seen it but no one has any clue where it's from and still they know every line verbatim. no clue why
>>
>>71721200
>It's a 45-year-old british goth man episode
>>
It's an adult swim show (yes i know bbc produced it). If you like adult swim, you like this show and you have a refined, sophisticated sense of humor.
>>
>>71721200
Cult classic
