Well I wouldn't call It terrible. It had severe problems with choosing a tone and the mistery was predictable but it wasn't that bad.
He is making smart choices, trying his best not to continuously do the same roles over and over. He's doing smaller indie projects and still making blockbuster/hollywood movies every now and then.
Good on him. He isn't the best actor in the world but he is going to get better.
