Excellent direction, cinematography, acting, score rendered nearly meaningless with a muddled ultimately empty script.
really fantastic movie that's gonna get shit because it tackles problems that are usually had by early 20 year olds. only real complaint is it can get a little lost in its own ass. But some people are into that. watch it if you're 20-27 or love over analysing movies

One of the most try-hard movies ever. The filmmakers are extremely desperate to be taken seriously as artists and thinkers, and this manifests itself in nearly every facet of the flick to its detriment.
Many plebs would eat this overt "artistry" up happily though.

There were a few interesting ideas in the movie, but the execution is so over the top in so many ways. too much screaming, too much overt dialogue, >quoting Shakespeare (this was just abysmally transparent [My movie is le *ART*!]), etc. etc.
I mean, I wouldn't call it a bad movie necessarily, but movies are much much better when you can make them artistic or smart without relying on all this hamfisted nonsense. That's what legit great filmmakers are able to do.

What's your takeaway on this film? Like what was it's message in the end, what did it mean for you?
It's pretty entertaining. The gimmick keeps the pace and energy up. Much more watchable than Revenant, which feels like the Director kinda didn't know what he was doing
