Shit, that's one good movie. It actually tricked me into watching the second one without looking it up first, which was a mistake

Also, the brother and sister MCs concept is neat, they should use it more instead of doing the standard group.

Ginger Snaps (sister/sister)

I like all 3 movies, and they're all are comfy in their own way, but the first one is the best one.

Also (non-siblings movies):
Dead Mary
The Others
Trick 'r Treat (I find Halloween and the small town setting very comfy)
Dawn of the Dead
The House of the Devil (I love that one)

2011 I know, but I have to say it: The Innkeepers.

Really love pic related, and it even features Zenith Leelee Sobieski among its selling points.

> Use the title of the movie as part of the tagline

Didn't remember that tho

Prime Leelieski was amazing, will definitely put this on my watch list.

Unrelated to thread but have you watched the Hercules movie with her in it? God awful movie but has some great Leelee scenes.

Also adding the Haunting in Conneticut to the thread, was one of my favourites back then.

I'm going from the 2000s horror movies wiki list of movies I've seen.

Valentine was pretty descent slasher, but I remember hating it on a first watch.

Elvira's Haunted Hills was a comedy, but it was comfy. I liked it more than the first Elvira movie.

Intermedio (Edward Furlong before the JUSTing)

Red Riding Hood (2003 Italian movie, not the Amanda Seyfried one)

May. I'm not sure if it was comfy or just plain disturbing, but I liked it a lot.

Hatchet (I still haven't seen the sequels)

The Marsh (VERY comfy with a sexy as fuck Gabrielle Anwar wearing form fitting wool sweaters. But it has a very tv movie feel to it)

The Woods (comfy and take place in the 60s, a decade very underused in modern horror movies)

P2 with Rachel Nichols

Sweeney Todd (fuck you, it was good)

Tooth and Nails (post-apo more than horror, but it gets points for realistic bow and arrow sounds. Fucking rare in movies)

Repo! The Genetic Opera (if you like rock operas/musicals)

Case 39 (Zellweger before the plastic surgery. Good little horror movie)

Jennifer's Body (wannabe Ginger Snaps, but it wasn't all bad)

My Super Psycho Sweet 16

The Unborn (the one with Gary Oldman. Not as bad as the reviews said. Every scene is taken fom some other horror movie, but the movie itself doesn't feel disjointed because of it. I really liked the exorcism scene and there is a few good winter scenes and a library research scene. That's almost always comfy)
>>
>>71661446
Comfiness, thy name is The Marsh.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZ5c1hMVZ7w

Bonus points for based Forest Whitaker.
>>
I'm 34. I never saw this when it was released. Later, I saw that /tv/ loves it so I thought id give it a chance.

Was less than impressed by the retarded winged demon.

This story brought to you without greentext
>>
>>71660897
wasn't this called roadkill?
>>
>>71661565
That was one of the sequels.
>>
>>71661592
>The film also goes under numerous other titles in other countries. In Australia, Sweden, Finland, Ireland and some other European countries the film was retitled Roadkill

Nevermind, it was renamed Road kill in Europe
>>
>>71661557
The love isn't about the creature per se, but about the fact that it was a little different from the usual horror movies coming out at that time.

The brother/sister duo as main characters (I can only think of Ginger Snaps doing something similar with the sisters back then) was one of the main appeal.

The sequel wasn't bad, but it was cliché horror movie to the max.
>>
>>71661617
Joy Ride 3 was also called Joy Ride 3: Roadkill in the US. Must have been confusing in Europe.
>>
>>71661724
>Roadkill 3: Roadkill?

why
>>

Because they're not comfy? At least not to most people. Comfy is a vage thing though, so it's cool if you find them to be.
>>

28 Days Later

>>

>>
>>71660699
Even though you are dumb sack of shit, horror (at least modern one) is rarely comfy.

Now the 80's were top comfy (e.g. House, Pumpkinhead, Critters)
>>
>>71660850
>Trick 'r Treat (I find Halloween and the small town setting very comfy)

My nigga, this movie is very good, a tad predictable maybe
>>
After. Life (2009)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t-OX5vzIcJM

Trailer is missleading, but it's very comfy. Liam Neeson's voice is a smooth as Scottish silk and Ricci gets naked for the last act of the movie.

I think any movie or genre can be comfy with some exceptions (like Man Behind the Sun or Lilja-4ever or Irreversible, etc. will rarely if ever be a bonding, feel good viewing experience); for instance, my friend, Tom--he was a good friend--and I would watch horror some evenings typically scifi horrors like Alien, Event Horizon, The Thing, etc. Anyway, if it's a feel good bonding experience in which you share food and merriment in the comfort of someone's home, then yeah, I can say it's pretty comfy.

I will give the director a chance to win me back with the 3rd movie next year. I don't want a fucking slasher-teen-fest like the 2nd movie though. Not much very Jeepery Creepery about 1 Creeper vs 1 broken bus of cocksucking goons. At that point I am better off booting up Saints Row IV.
>>
>>71662670
Salva just wanted some teen boipucci. He learned his lesson after only getting to savage Justin Longs during the first movies production.

Cut that woman's head off and the aliens somehow kept her alive.

I honestly didn't know the name of this movie until a couple years ago, thought it was called Cocaliens or something.

Even Jon Stewart character stayed alive after being stabbed in the eye.

I consider Slither as a sequel of sorts because it was so similar.

Night of the Creeps is very Slithers=like (well, the other way around).

Shivers is great, but it doesn't have the comedy aspect. Although, as far as Cronenberg go, I would say Rabid is better than Shivers (and more comfy, with the christmas theme and all)

Anybody seen Hallowed Ground and Teeth? Scarecrow priest demon tries to fuck a woman.

Idk if anybody can help me but there was this retarded syfy movie where a guy has sex with a chick she turns out out to be the villans sister and they main villans has a big ass truck and they were into voodoo shit so their other brother who had leprosy or some horrible animated body could be cured and at the end of the movie every villan dies except truck man and the run him over and over until he's nothing more than a face that's alive because voodoo.

Leprosy man says something like this

Nah, after looking it up more, it's the one I saw. I liked it. Didn't it have another title though when it acem out? Something about red or roses?
>>
>>71664077
I just remember it as Venom. Damn I miss when Syfy played anime and low budget horror movies. I hate cg horror movies they play now.

I watched this one movie where Cerberus and it was following these people across the world or some shit. Most of the horror movies on there sound like something from a fever dream when you think about it.
>>
>>71664077
Stay Alive was about a video game that killed people that died in-game. Movie breaks it's own rules at points but fun imo.

8mm 2 (not kidding)

Vacancy

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Category:Snuff_films_in_fiction

If that's the aspect of 8mm that you liked.

If it's actual 8mm films in movies, Sinister is flawed, but good. (don't watch the sequel, it's shit). Cigarette Burns is great, but it's part of the Masters of Horrors tv series.

Hack! is also good. With Danica McKellar. It's about 2 psycho who recreate horror movie scenes when they kill/film people. The idea isn't explored to it's full potential, but it's a good movie anyway. Drusilla from Buffy is in it.

>In 1988, Salva was convicted of sexual misconduct with one of Clownhouse's underage stars – a 12-year-old boy – including videotaping one of the encounters.[5] Commercial videotapes and magazines containing child pornography were also found at his home.[5] Salva pleaded guilty to lewd and lascivious conduct, oral sex with a person under 14, and procuring a child for pornography.[5][6] He was sentenced to three years in state prison, of which he served 15 months.[3] He completed his parole in 1992.[6]

This is a weird film and the ending stuck with me. It's not great in production quality but it's worth watching.

In a way, it's kinda shit, but it has a number of memorable moments, it's a cult classic, and you absolutely should watch it.

this gem in case you guys haven't watched it yet. one of the better early 2000s horror movies directed by a spaniard, those fuckers are notoriously great at tension and cementing fear. it's be balaguero, the same guy that did [rec].

Same here. Saw requiem in theaters with my family, and we all laugh hysterically at that one scene when the blond gal gets accidentally hit with the predator disk.
The rest of the film is full of your standard enjoyably bad movie stuff, but the execution of that particular death scene was so god damn goofy that it is probably one of my favorite unintentionally hilarious moments ever.

It has a slow first act because there's a lot of mythos to go over, but once you hit the 45 minute mark it's nonstop and pretty scary. I think it's better the second time through when you don't half to be taking mental notes through the whole first half and can just enjoy the mad perfection of the second.

I might be a turbopleb lightweight as far as horror goes but The Hills Have Eyes is still the most terrifying fucking movie I've ever seen. Nothing else even comes close.

It's pretty much the opposite of comfy.
