I dunno, I liked the first movie and I thought the aliens were wiped out, so it will be interesting to see where it goes from here.

Single pilot controlled jaegers... because dual pilot control was stupid. You know its stupid; they just needed to find a way to put two people in one jaeger. Cheap ass writing "hurr cpu (our brain) overheat".
More jaegers and their own specialized weapon(s) being used. i.e. Cherno Alpha's shoulder thingies were known to freeze Kaijus, but we never saw them being used.
Longer fights, probably a super badass scene where 1 jaeger goes against 3 Kaijus using all its weapons? This could be a hell of an intro back to the Pacific Rim universe.
Redo the category systems for both jaegers and kaijus (C'mon, I think humans and kaijus have "evolved" with their tech by Pacific Rim 2).
Like others have said already, jaeger + kaiju tech would be nice. Imagine a certain mishap with a single pilot inside a jaeger-kaiju hybrid. The pilot is then trapped inside the jaeger and he/she is essentially that jaeger, forever. Because it is also part-kaiju, it is biological; so the pilot won't "die".
But yeah, it would be nice to go to the Kaiju's homeworld and start wrecking shit there.
