This is movie universe which is separate from the comics, the new film is taking aspects from several spider man - High School is a Ultimate Spider Man trait and you'd know it worked really well there.

Raimi made a solid trilogy, if you look over the garbage stuff of Spider-Man 3.
Webb tried his best with his series, but it felt hollow. The secret agent parents idea was lame. And the villains were even worst. I get Webb went for a more zany approach but it just didn't work. But hey, at least he got the relationship stuff right.
This new one has me hype. Haven't seen Civil War but I like the idea of making a more grounded, personal story. Worked wonders with Spider-man 2. I just hope Iron Man is just a small cameo with Tony allowing Pete to sneak a couple sips of beer on some tall building rooftop.
