>shoehorning lazy ethno-historical templates onto an already arbitrarily-designed pastiche of Britain
Literally autism

Op you're a genius

That's a big Ireland
flip england around and it matches better
Yea, about right except that Targaryens are clearly Romans
>>71388290
No, retard. North is northern england, Westerlands is southern Enland. Wall is Hadrian's wall and wildings are Picts. Targaryens are the Norman dynasty (William the Conqueror's house). The reasons why should be obvious.

In cultural terms, it is closer to what I describe, retard.
We will see an invencible armada crashing episode next season.

Most fantasy maps are basically Western Europe. The few that aren't are usually Eastern North America. If they're neither of those, they're usually a shapeless blob of land that has no regard for geologic process. Maps aren't easy things to create in the first place, and "original" maps (whatever that may mean, people seem to have this fetish for material made from the whole cloth that is entirely unrealistic for actual creativity) nearly impossible.

The north is the north, beyond the wall is beyond Hadrian's wall so Scotland.
How is this so hard for you?
>>71389341
It's based on the War of the Roses
And there is a cultural difference between the North and South of England anyway

Seven Kingdoms = Heptarchy
Wildlings = Scots
Westerlands = Wessex
First Men = Celts
Andals = Angles
Iron Islanders = Vikings
COTF + White walkers = Sidhe
William the Conquerer = Aegon the Conquerer
There are other similarities, for example the 3 Baratheon brothers story is the story of the sons of William the conquerers sons, complete with the hunting accident.
