How did she bake a whole pie without being caught why would an assassin even bake a pie just to make a point?
>>
>>71372420
she didn't bake the pies she just put the fingers in the already baked pies
>>
The production crew made it.

idk but notice how they always hide her gimpy right ear.

how did she move so fast ?
she took like half of an episode to reach Frey AND murder all the kids AND bake the pie.
What the fuck

ok that would make sense but in the first season most of the stuff happens in the road, it takes 3 episodes to go from Winterfell to King's Landing, 2 episodes to go from the North to Riverlands, 2 episodes in the Wild North simply walking.

in the last season Arya travels so fast no one is expecting her, there is not even a scene where she looks up and see Frey's castle, or Riverrun. And they are doing ever since S2 when they figured out we all knew where everything was supposed to be because there is a 2 minutes intro of the map.

i mean do you remember how long did it take to Robb to leave the north and go in his own war with his army and move around etc?The battle episode the Valley armie teleports in one night, and they have to cross the Frey's twin towers when there is a bunch of lannister supporters

in the first seasons you felt the struggle of everybody and how they were making up plans and doing the logistics, now it is just anime stuff and marysues fighting each other

How the fuck are the people in this show able to travel vast distances in such a short amount of time? Looking at the map of the world they're in, Theon and Yara had to have taken a long fucking trip to get to Mereen, and then Tyrell and Dorne ships are shown in the fleet(who area also far away), which means they both traveled there, just to turn around and go back.

>you're watching a tv series about dragons and fucking magic
And it's shown over a decade that everyone travels by normal means - horse, foot, or boat. No one has teleportation powers in the show, there's no magic being used for why Arya can travel from Braavos to the Frey's in like a day.
>>
>>71373689
the people showing up far distances away are done to show the progression of time in the show.

So basically, Arya kills Walder Frey months after leaving Braavos, Varys is in Dorne a month after leaving Mereen, and back in Mereen a month later.

This episode was a time lapse of several months. That show Jamie was able to ride from the Riverlands back to Kings Landing. It didn't happen all at once, it took a long time.
>>
>>71372420
>Cersei: The last thing you'll ever see is my face
>Arya: The last thing you'll ever see is a stark smiling

Is Arya going to become the next Cersei?
>>

>such a short amount of time
That's the thing though: do we really have any reference for making a time frame. Arya could've left Braavos months ago.

they leave the vale in episode 4
CIA meets Sansa in episode 5, and brienne is sent to Riverrun
Episode 7, Jon/Sansa/Davos are running around the north gathering allies
Brienne gets to Riverrun in episode 8
BotB is episode 9

the show's flow of time is convoluted but you just have to assume that not everything is simultaneous

Then they did a poor job at showing the lapse of time. Varys was in Dorne in one scene and then on a boat in Mereen 10 minutes later, never showing him either get on a boat to go back or arriving back in Mereen. He was just there.
>>
>>71373862
How do you know she didn't take months to travel from Braavos to the Twins? We have no time frame of reference on the show. Her S6 could've been wrapped up weeks if not months ahead of many of the others and she's departed for Westeros since then.

That's the problem with having Ramsay as the villain (who thinks on his feet but doesn't think to the future) and not Roose Bolton. Roose would have placed extremely loyal lesser lords to MC or given the ruling house an excellent reason to side with him.

It could just be that their ravens didn't get off in time before the Valemen stormed their position.
>>
>>71374788
I really don't understand all these complaints about teleporters.

When we saw Melisandre go from being exiled by Jon to suddenly riding off south, did people wonder that she had suddenly teleported on to her horse? Do we really need to see every character walking somewhere for episode upon episode? Arya was travelling alone; it would have been tedious just cutting back to her location every 5 minutes just to show how long it took her to get back.

They have been skipping out on shit like this for ages now

Half the show is just making excuses for the shit directing

It takes a sentence, or a short scene, just to set the mood. They dump it all on the suspension of disbelief. Teleporting characters. Vanishing dogs. Magical armies. A populace that'll gladly accept leader change every 5 minutes.
>>
>>71373370
I'm glad those 20 minutes were devoted to Dany's sad breakup and chat with Tyrion instead
>>
>>71375404
Yeah but if Melly gets exiled in one scene, appears in Dorne in the next and crops up in Mereen 5 minutes later you do have to wonder.

Face it, the reason we hate teleporters in because the show is trying to build a world. Shit like this is so bad the characters may as well read their scripts off a4 lined paper with the Mic in their hand.

You're really missing the point, and it's painfully apparent you're not being divisive. If two friends are saying their goodbyes because one friend is traveling across continents, it expels the audience's immersion when the character appears one episode later -- having made a two way journey at that.

It's not about adding in "travel time" where you see the person literally traveling, it's about pacing. Either provide an appropriate amount of time for the viewer to believe that the friend's journey has been long and arduous, or remove the scene where they make a big deal of them being away.

You've removed the gravity of the situation if someone says relents to say goodbye only to have them return momentarily.
>>
>>71372566
>The pie is a ripoff from Titus Andronicus.
This. This is the only reason a pie was actually involved.

As for how she got there, because D&D decided to I guess, personally I'd have a shot of her on a boat and started s7e1 with her killing Frey but D&D wanted Jaime to be leaving the Twins at the time and back at KL for the coronation I guess.

Time was fucking weird in this episode. They could have cut 70% of the Horn Hill crap to stagger some of these timelines over other episodes.

In Varys' defence: he probably met Dany's fleet in the narrow sea, Tyrells and Dorne come from the west, Dany comes from the east, they meet near Sunspear and go north up the narrow sea

>>71373270
>Because D&D love inserting scenes from the books without developing the correct context
This too, they have bullet points of shit that happens in the book but Gurm hasn't written it yet so they make up their own way to get to the point and whether you like Gurm's writing or not, they are objectively worse.

There's such a thing as implied actions and shit but if you want us to know what someone went somewhere, you show a clip of them on a horse or boat or some shit. They only needed to have a brief clip of her on a boat and we'd know she was on her way.

Hamlet works too: (Act 4, Scene 3, Page 2)

CLAUDIUS
Where is Polonius?

HAMLET
At supper.

CLAUDIUS
At supper?

HAMLET
Not where he eats, but where he is eaten. A certain convocation of politic worms are e'en at him. Your worm is your only emperor for diet. We fat all creatures else to fat us, and we fat ourselves for maggots. Your fat king and your lean beggar is but variable service—two dishes, but to one table. That’s the end.

CLAUDIUS
Alas, alas!

HAMLET
A man may fish with the worm that hath eat of a king, and eat of the fish that hath fed of that worm.

30 CLAUDIUS
What dost you mean by this?

HAMLET
Nothing but to show you how a king may go a progress through the guts of a beggar.

CLAUDIUS
Where is Polonius?

HAMLET
In heaven. Send hither to see. If your messenger find him not there, seek him i' th' other place yourself. But if indeed you find him not within this month, you shall nose him as you go up the stairs into the lobby.

Five seconds of going to wikipedia:

>The next day, during the feast at his house, Titus asks Saturninus if a father should kill his daughter when she has been raped. When Saturninus answers that he should, Titus kills Lavinia and tells Saturninus of the rape. When the Emperor calls for Chiron and Demetrius, Titus reveals that they have been baked in the pie Tamora has just been eating. Titus then kills Tamora and is immediately killed by Saturninus, who is subsequently killed by Lucius to avenge his father's death.

Of course, for a situation where the server is punished and the meat pie contained an innocent, look up the story of Tantalus:

>Most famously, Tantalus offered up his son, Pelops, as a sacrifice. He cut Pelops up, boiled him, and served him up in a banquet for the gods. The gods became aware of the gruesome nature of the menu, so they did not touch the offering; only Demeter, distraught by the loss of her daughter, Persephone, absentmindedly ate part of the boy's shoulder. Clotho, one of the three Fates, ordered by Zeus, brought the boy to life again (she collected the parts of the body and boiled them in a sacred cauldron), rebuilding his shoulder with one wrought of ivory made by Hephaestus and presented by Demeter. The revived Pelops grew to be an extraordinarily handsome youth. The god Poseidon took him to Mount Olympus to teach him to use chariots. Later, Zeus threw Pelops out of Olympus due to his anger at Tantalus. The Greeks of classical times claimed to be horrified by Tantalus's doings; cannibalism and kin slaying were atrocities and taboo.

Or Sweeney Todd when business was a-boomin', that works too.

Dumbass why couldn't he just meet their HUGE FUCKING FLEET and change ships?
>>
>>71373442
Yeah, that's why Wyman Manderly did it in the books, and it made sense.

Having Arya doing it is illogical. They just wanted to add a cool part from the books, but they didn't do anything to set it up correctly.

>That show Jamie was able to ride from the Riverlands back to Kings Landing. It didn't happen all at once, it took a long time

The Sept of Baelor was still smoking, and Cersei was wearing the exact same gown that she put on before the trial.
>>
>>71373865
Why was the Great Sept still smouldering by the time Jaime got home if it took such a long time?
>>
>>71372420
Because of 99 cooking and 99 stealth. Plus it happened off screen dummy, didn't you know that half the season happened off screen?
>>
>>71372929
The Khaleesi arc is 5 years in the future compared to the story we follow in Westeros. Thats why the lesbian king was there that fast too

God I hate it when these fucking retards come to /tv/. Yes there are dragons and magic because they are an explained and justified aspect of the series. Teleporting across half a continent and doing x,y and z with no explanation between appearances is shoddy and really it cheapened the impact of Walder Freys death. They even set up Jaime to do it which would have been ironic and fitting and then they just vetoed that mid episode to have Arya do it? It was so cringeworthy.

It's a fanservice scene for bookfags.

>bookfags hate it because it's repurposed beyond recognition
>showfags don't care because they don't get the Frey Pie reference

Subpar scene, they could have done anything with Arya and they chose just stab him to death in an empty room. Bravo D&D, such pottery.
>>
>>71373639
dropped after the first sentence

i'm pretty sick of hearing people complain about travel times

personally i'd rather not wait 6 episodes for a character to get where they need to go,

there is no indication of WHEN any of these events take place except that they take place. Arya could have killed frey months after the lannisters left and that scene would look exactly the same

stop splitting hairs you cunts

Nah, the showrunners confirmed they are leaving from Essos.
>>
>>71372508
There's literally no reason for you to think that the time scale is the same between the two continents.

The only reference we get is Mace going to the iron bank. Who knows when she left in relation to other events

Jaime also went from The Twins to Kings Landing while it was still on fire. Apparently news of that hadn't reached him yet somehow that information made it all the way to Olenna in Dorne.
>>
>>71391588
>forget season 5

looks like i have successfully forgotten season 5
>>
>>71373639
Bravos isn't far from the Twins anyway.
>>
>>71388368
So you really are retarded. One second of TV time dies not always equal to one minute of Westeros/Story time.

You don't know the scale of time, though the show really isn't the best at portraying time passing by, which is why you get people calling teleport trickery. Nothing significant happens during the travel, we can safely assume that the character actually rode a ship/horse, waited x amount if time and whatever. No one wants to see that unless there are establishing shots or dialogue in between.

Not to mention that it's specifically mentioned in the books that Wyman gives them gifts when they leave so the gods know that he isn't breaking guest right, while Arya just straight up breaks it
>>
>>71372420
You have to do the cooking by the book.
>>

Unrelated, but there is also a story in China where Cao Cao spends the night in the home of a simple man - the man has nothing to serve Cao Cao, and not wanting to bear the shame of not being able to offer him something, kills his wife and cooks her. He tells Cao Cao later, after hes eaten his fill, and if I remember, Cao Cao thanks him for the sacrifice he made, and sees the mans devotion to providing hospitality.

Sounds apocryphal as hell, but interesting if its true.

Jamie and the Riverlands Rendezvous is much fucking worse, it's almost mind-boggling if you try to think of the time-frame.

>Leaves for the River lands after finding out Cersei's trial is in just a few days.
>Arrives at the Riverlands and seiges Riverun successfully
>Stays long enough to tell Walder Frey he's a faggot.
>Returns to King's Landing just in time to see the smoldering ruins of the Sept of Baelor.

How fast was the fucking siege? Five minutes?
