Star Trek: The Next Generation is the only Trek series that doesn't have it's own theme music and is therefore inferior to the others.

Discuss.

DS9 gets great starting at 2.

DS9 is hands down the best of the series and the only reason it's unpopular with Star Trek fans is because it shits all over Roddenberry's blue pilled utopia.

It shows that the Federation is a futuristic Rome, a bloated empire that thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

Yet despite all its shilling about how it is paradise, it has fuck loads of problems: political squabbles, rebel uprisings, risks of police state, attempted military coups, refugee crisis and an intelligence agency willing to commit genocide to protect the Federation.

It's easy for Star Trek to be an idealist show that makes lefties feel all rosy inside but each episode is them dealing with some foreign species issue that is an allegory for some social issue of the day. Then they fuck off all happy smiles.

DS9 puts all the problems at the Federations doorstep and you realize then that there is no idealistic quick fix that pleases everyone and is the "right" choice. What DS9 really does is show that actions have long lasting consequences. It's realistic. It shows that no matter how "evolved" we are, humans are shit and we'll always be shit.

Oh also it also had real character development and an ongoing story. Something the other Star Treks never fully manage.
>>
>>71251878
Nah. TOS is the best because of Spock/McCoy. DS9 is only second best because of O'Brien/Bashir and Quark/Odo.

Second best is nothing to be ashamed of, of course. DS9 fans should still feel proud of being almost as good as the best.
>>
>>71251966
Depends what you want out of Star Trek I guess. Every series had its characters worth sticking around for, but there isn't really a character in DS9 that I didn't like besides Dax.

I also preferred the darker direction DS9 took the series. A lot of the themes were intriguing and gave me a lot to think about.

A lot more than the other series anyway.
>>
>>71248801
I'm sorry. If this assumption is clearly based on shitty ass theme music. Or them not having their own I'd like to offer Enterprise's theme song. Though original is still a shit...
>>
>>71251878

DS9 is a boring soap opera about a group of unlikable people in a train station.

Fuck DS9. Voyager was way better, fight me.
>>
>>71252130
Agree with you, familia. DS9 is just a glorified space shopping mall. I mean, they even have a Promenade. The station itself looks ugly. The original dinky Runabouts also look like shit. The Defiant is a space turtle. Just ugly, dim and uninspired series that decided halfway to turn into Star Wars x Dune ripoff, on top of ripping off B5. Which explains its fanbase.

I saw Jonathan Archer having dinner once. He was by himself, eating a pretty juicy looking steak in the 602 Club in San Fran. I was awestruck to see a Starfleet Captain but I didn't want to badger him or anything, I actually wanted to come off cool like an Andorian. So, as I passed his table with my date, I just half-stopped, said "It's been a long road" and nodded. He just looks at me and glares. It was like staring into the abyss and the abyss was not only staring back, it was trying to claw into your soul.

So I went to my table and I'm just kicking myself, thinking I made a complete ass of myself to my hero. It was all I could think about, it was ruining my date, so I thought of going over there and apologizing. As I turn to check out the table I see he's still looking at me. Not average looking, psycho looking. He had a cold stare and a blank expression, the type of face that would make lesser men shit their pants. And he kept staring. He at his steak, drank his wine and ate his dessert (fancy cake), and he didn't break eye contact-- NOT EVEN ONCE. The raw steak's bloody juice was dripping from his mouth, and he just kept going. He was a caged animal.

So I lower my head and soldier through. My date keeps yapping about her job and her friends and how good the lobster at that restaurant is and I'm just trying to erase him from my mind. So when he gets up to walk out I think to myself "It's OK, maybe this night won't be a total dud". And as he's walking out of the restaurant, he passes by our table and he just half-stops, much like I did. Points a finger phase pistol to my head, smiles and then just walks out. My date was weirded out but I was just relieved I could put "pissing off Archer" behind me.

So we step outside later on and my tires have been slashed and my car windows have been broken, there's scratches all over and I find a note saying "Fucking Vulcans" on the windshield. Does that fucker know how hard it is to keep a car here in the future?

Garak may have had some mannerisms that weren't exactly masculine, but on the DS9 DVD he explains how his sexuality is not supposed to be exact; he used minor cues and subtle gestures and the writers built on that.

DS9 is the best trek. the best captain, the best klingon, the best villain.

DS9 have the best characters : Quark, Odo, Dr Bashir, O'Brien, The Sisko, Gul Dukat, Damar, Garak, the Jem'hadars, Weyoun (!),etc.

Adventure, philosophy, science and fun guaranteed.

The thing about Nana Visitor and her character Kira Nerys at the very beginning is that she's very whiny, nasally, and annoying but by Season 6 and especially Season 7, her character really grows on you.

She appears and acts much wiser with a lot less of that almost perfunctory anger with every scene.

I think the best example of this in the episode "Chimera" when they discover the other Changeling in the run-about and return to DS9 with it.

The way Kira reacts to his loathsome attitude towards "Monoforms" is completely different from how she would've acted seasons 1-4.

I like how her character greatly changed by being involved with Odo.

At this moment a brave, patriotic, pro-state Gul and visiting tourist who served 1500 tours of duty in the Cardassian Union's armed services and understood the necessity of war and fully supported all military decisions made by Central Command stood and held up a reverse-ratcheting router.

“How was this made?”

The arrogant professor crinkled his nose and smugly replied “By divine inspiration from the Tears of the Prophets, Spoonhead.”

“Wrong. We created it 5,000 years ago. Our unparalleled education system raised the scientists who engineered the design. Our fearless leaders had the vision to expand to the stars and enlighten your backwards planet. You learned everything you know from us. If The Prophets were real, they wouldn't have made a universe where routers need to ratchet in reverse.”

The professor was visibly shaken and dropped his PADD of Orb Prophecies. He stormed out of the room crying those religious Denebian Slimedevil tears.

The students awoke from their Vedeks' indoctrination, applauded and registered Reconciliation that day and accepted Cardassia as Bajor's benefactor. A vole named Obsequience crawled into the room, perched atop the Gul's flag and shed a tear on the PADD. The Never-Ending Sacrifice was read several times and Enabran Tain himself showed up to confirm the Obsidian Order knew all their secrets but would keep them in exchange for loyalty.

The professor lost his tenure and was fired the next day. He died of the gerrold plague, Regulan Bloodworms, and was tossed into the superstitious locals' Fire Caves for all eternity.

Yes, yes, well done Starfleet Academy Class of 2258, well done Cadets. All of you certainly deserve a promotion to the rank of Ensign.

HOWEVER, recent events must be taken into account, and I have a few last-minute promotions to award.

To Master James Rebellious Kirk, for being the son of the father who taught us all the true meaning of heroism, Lieutenant (junior grade).

To the Kobayashi Maru programmer anew, for having great untapped potential and a fateful destiny which beckons in your future, Lieutenant (full).

To the student whose actions weren't always prudent, for following your gut instincts and not the chain of command, Lieutenant-Commander.

To the sex king of your dormitory wing, for saving the universe with naught but two proud American fists, Commander.

To the boy who's beastie not in the leastie, for the hundreds of millions of dollars that we shall reap in ticket sales, Captain of the Federation Starship USS Enterprise NCC 1701.

Yes, yes, well done Kirk, well done Kirk.

THE HUMAN ADVENTURE IS JUST BEGINNING

I prefer the uniform as well but the more I thought about it the more it seems like it wouldn't go with her character's sense of identity. Seven was hostile to humanity. Even years later she maintained a sense of superiority over everyone else and would not have been comfortable with a standard uniform, I don't think.

Also part of what makes her attractive in Relativity is that they occluded her ocular implant.

Fuck that, I didn't wanna get into it but Fags only sexualize aging faghages who are in their late 30s, 40s, and 50s on their shows. I do think Kristin Chenoweth is still cute as a button she also almost 50 years old.

It's the Once Upon A Time effect. They'll show shirtless young man getting out of bed while slowly get dressed ON CAMERA in every other episode yet all the woman stay moderately dressed even after having sex. Only cleavage / female skin to be seen comes from woman in their fucking late 40s.
>Image very related
>>
>>71272209
At the risk of vomiting upon admitting I watch OUaT, they have a fair amount of cleavage whenever a woman not named Snow "Fatass" White is in their fairy tale clothes.

Again, while I do find Kristin Chenoweth to be cute shes also almost 50 years old. Old empowered cougars will be the only fanservice you're going to get out of a gay director who loves his Madonna / Liza minnelli faghags.

It's going to be just another Teen Wolf / CW type show that does nothing but show off shirtless men but they'll only show a hot chick in her underwear once every two seasons and even than its some old empowered cougar hooking up with some 20 year old guy.
>>
>>71272671
Never forget, you said that we wouldn't have ANY fanservice at all.

Really, you're just looking for reasons to complain.

You live a sad life and you make me sad just reading your posts.
>>
>>71272339
>Blue Fairy is always showing off her tits in flashbacks
That's kinda my point tho. The Blue Fairly is played by Keegan Connor Tracy who is 44 years old. There's a reason they never sexualize 20 year old girl in their prime on these types of shows.

The reason there are no females under the age of 30 shown provocatively dressed on these types of shows because is because it would alienate the fat chubby , aging female demographic that doesn't wish to be reminded of what hot young woman in her prime looks like.

Even the 40 year old chick who plays Snow White said in an interview that she was shocked that she was cast seeing that the Snow White character is 14 years old.

>you will never be Nana Visitor's cellphone
>you will never be poked, stroked or held up to her face
>you will never rub against her legs as she sticks you in her pocket
>you will never keep a gallery of all the nude selfies that she sexts to Rene
>you will never turn your vibrations to maximum on nights when she gets truly horny
Just die in my bucket already.

I never said I had a crush on her. I just said shes a blast from my tv past. That not to imply that I believe she's ugly in any way.

I remember when I first saw T'Pol, i thought she had a face perfectly made for splooging on. And that she'd take it like a champ with the seriousness face of her T'pol character, never even flinching while streaks covered her face. It honestly took me a good while before I could watch the show without being sexually aroused.

IIRC she almost passed out on set because the suit was so constricting that it was hard to breathe.

The character wasn't a slut, but the actress who played her did do an FHM photoshoot once.

>Chilling in my bucket because I have to retain my changeling form.
>Mom walks in, tells me to get out of the bathtub because she needs it.
>Fucking solids.
>Go outside so I can try to learn more about changing into an Earth Eagle.
>See this fucking Solid harassing a fine upstanding female.
>Rush over and grab his arm.
>Fucking solid punches me in the head, mashes my face up.
>Clasp my hands together and hit him over the head.
>He goes down in one hit.
>Luckily the security team shows up to take him away.
>End up getting taken away as well.
>Earthling solid pretending to be my mother comes to bail me out.
>Finds me wedged in-between the bars trying to shapeshift out.

Out of my way, fucking solidshits.

>The character wasn't a slut

it was a long time ago. but i recall an episode where she meets some dude in a space bar or something and sleeps with him on the first night well knowing it was only going to be a one night stand because she was in need of sex.
