Yes and no, the flight line guys are crucial to keeping that vaunted American logistics system up and running while the nonners do everything that's required otherwise. You can't have maintainers without a personnel puke to pay them, and that puke can't do his job if security forces aren't keeping rude people and officer's wives outside the base. USAF special forces are a breed unto themselves, but they're their own little thing.
