So it seems every fall of recent memory, without fail, we get a high profile crime film. Can anyone explain this phenomenon?

2006: The Departed
2007: American Gangster
2008: Rocknrolla
2009: Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans
2010: The Town
2011: The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo
2012: Killing Them Softly
2013: The Counselor
2014: Gone Girl
2015: Sicario
2016: The Accountant

Why is this?

Without a doubt the worst of the lot.

Maybe Rocknrolla was worse.

I predict that The Accountant will be similarly bad to the two at the top of my post.

Guess what the common thread is?

What was /tv/'s opinion on The Counselor?

I loved it. Thought it was one of the best Ridley Scott films in his entire career. Cameron Diaz sucked but she played such a hateful character so you really cant' blame her. I loved everyone else, especially Brad Pitt.

You realize Killing Them Softly, The Counselor and Rocknrolla are on that list right?

I like it a lot. The movie is damn near perfect until the last scene. The mise-en-scène was excellent, and the actors all did incredible jobs.
Also, H O L A !

Did you fail to read my post wherein I acknowledge Rocknrolla?

Idiot.

The other two you listed are great. Guess what those two share?
