Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy (Both mini-series and movie), Smiley's People, and The Spy Who Came in From the Cold. The Tailor of Panama.
Fairly much a lot of John Le Carre's work adapted.

Don't think I've seen that one. Will check it out one day.

I wish somebody would have another crack at these. It's the guy who wrote Rambo for fucks sake. There was a mini-series made from the first one in the 80's that was ok. Bourne-tier shit with different characters in the first two and the survivors from them team up in part three.

I felt that it was weaker than First Blood, but the underlying theme along with the events that occurred was heart breaking to say the least. I'm sort of glad Saul got to be happy. How are the followup books?

This is my favorite film with River Phoenix. I had no idea that anti-war hippies did bombings when I saw this in 4th grade.

This is the real-life incident that inspired what the parents did in the movie.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sterling_Hall_bombing

>I still feel we can't rationalize someone getting killed, but at that time we felt we should never have done the bombing at all. Now I don't feel that way. I feel it was justified and should have been done. It just should have been done more responsibly.[8]

Fucking hippies. I love how these leftist retards high on LSD that rail against violence are quite happy to utilize terrorism for their ideology.

If you want to actually do something, do something more concrete. Protest rallies and marches don't do jackshit compared to distribution of print and visual media that covers the war in South Vietnam as well as mobilizing sympathizers to vote and write to their representatives in Congress. Distribute lists of companies that are involved in the military-industrial complex during that conflict as well as facilities that provide weapons research.

The troubling thing is that (((Sidney Portier))) also made a movie called Daniel that was very favorable of Jewish Communists.

Part of the Harry Palmer series. I think they made two more with Michael Caine in the 1980's.
>>
>>71197363
If you liked the first one you should like them as well. Stylistically, tonally and thematically similar. If memory serves, Night & Fog is the stronger of the two.

Another Harry Palmer? Cool. He's a good character. In my head-cannon Harry Brown is a half-senile old Harry Palmer who only remembers being in the military before he became a spy because the Ipcress stuff damaged his brain.

Fuck that's awesome. Harry Brown is a great movie too. But I keep forgetting to import the UK Blu-ray disc.

I saw that film. It wasn't very good, but I think the whole point was to see the Rosenbergs from their children's POV.

They were both guilty of being complicit in aiding the Soviets against the US, but the wife shouldn't have been executed. The husband was the real culprit.

I really hate how Hollywood whitewashes the fuck out of the Soviets and their shills. Like the Trumbo film. I lost a lot of respect for Bryan Cranston from this particular quote.

>Stalin wasn’t a communist; he was a fascist dictator. But the name “communism” stuck to that. The American Communist Party at the time, which really grew out of the Depression where nobody had a job, was supposed to be like the political arm of labor unions so that more jobs for the working man could be created. But they had the title “Communist” in there. If they called themselves the American Worker Party, maybe things would’ve been different. But with the name “Communist,” people thought, oh, well the American Communist Party must want to take over the country, so we need to weed them out!

People forget that the Soviets actively utilized Western Communists to propagate and subvert the US and other nations whenever they could. And Communist sympathizers attacked marches that shed attention on the famines in the Ukraine during the 1930's by saying "Stalin din do nuffin".

I don't know how I stand in politics. I dislike US involvement in South Vietnam because I felt it was a pointless proxy war that bled us of money and manpower. I absolutely loathe the Soviet Union and am VERY well aware of the underhanded shit they were doing with help from their sympathizers in the West. I can't stand US policies in propping up dictators during the Cold War as well. On some issues, I lean left while others I lean right because they seem to make the most sense to me. But I will NEVER adhere to anything from Communism or even Socialism because that shit cannot work on a nation-state level.

>They were both guilty of being complicit in aiding the Soviets against the US, but the wife shouldn't have been executed.

Fair enough. But concentrating on that stuff is the most narrow view possible and brings a lot sympathies. It's a real Hollywood execution in that way and I was disappointed that Portier meddled in this.

I didn't even bother with Trumpo. Hollywood's handling of the communist past is a bad joke that is going to blow up in their faces some day the longer this goes on and the more stories about this threats come out.
Ironically Hollywood has no problem blacklisting people like Mel Gibson and of course it is known that you can't have any view diverging from their echo chamber.
