Its not easy to make it work and its not always the best thing to do even if you CAN pull it off, but it doesn't invalidate a story the same way ACTUAL pure, dumb, Mary-Sue style luck invalidates a story.

The gods haven't been set up the way they have in those stories, though. We've been given no concrete proof they exist, just word of mouth from deeply untrustworthy fanatics. You can't say "God did it" without providing 100% proof that God exists and is actively moving the story. The resurrections could have been the work of Rhllor or they could have been just necromancy, we don't know.

True, we don't know that they exist 100%, but if our main proof of Gods is resurrection and magic and the practitioners of this stuff (CoF, Red Priests, Faceless etc) all claim to draw power from their gods, and this with every appearance of sincerity, and in some cases from actual POV, then we have very little grounds to be skeptical about those Gods.
And GRRM has been pretty gentle about slowly increasing the divine/magical presence in the story, so its not like he just threw it in to get his protags out of a jam.
All in all, I don't really like this stuff, but it seems like a writing decision, as opposed to the sneks and the Bravos stuff this season, which was just a writing failure.
