I've recently played two games with very interesting stories. They're called "Gone Home" and "Firewatch". They're short, plot-based walking simulators. Both very very intense throughout as details unfolded. I'm now looking for similar feelings in movies. Sort of mysterious thrillers that keeps you on edge.
