It has been a awhile since I last watched it, but if I remember correctly, My take was the lodges were one in the same. Black and white were two sides of the same coin/lodge. You just got whichever side you deserved or needed, like heaven or hell, but not quite the after life, just... alter-life.
And the mystery in the mountain was some group or cult trying to utilized and abuse the lodge for power. Which was what made all the crazy shit in the town go down. Kind of like reverberations of them fucking with reality. That also lured crazy entities like Bob to the town.
Lets be honest though, I doubt I'm even 10% right and I'll never predict where this will go in Season 3.
