I appreciated it a lot having seen all the movies. The Daniel Craig movies prior were edgier and more akin to modern spy movies, which are very different from the ones that were around when Bond got started.
That being said, Bond now has competition with serious films like the Bourne series and in many aspects can't hold up. Spectre was the realization that Bond was on top when spy movies weren't as serious, so they jumped back to the old style with generic shadowy villain controlling everything from a conference room.
Quantum of Solace would have been beloved if not for the stupid directing which, like I said earlier, was too busy imitating Bourne than being well directed. Story and action were actually pretty sweet. I personally prefer Spectre.

because he doesn't reveal himself until what, the last 30 minutes? Everything up until that is awesome
