The penultimate scene turned virgin suicides from a kinography into a joint. The whole movie prior to that point was a thoughtful look into the lives of a set of sisters and their admirers. Their was an uneasy tension in that you basically knew that these girls were going to kill themselves but all along the way you're looking for motives, reasons, clues and there really aren't many. There's a few subtle and creepy moments ("there's something leaking") but the tone evokes the questions parents, friends, relatives all have regarding suicides - did we fail them? what led them to it? etc., etc. and we don't really get many answers, which is nice
Then I get memed by this scene and I realize it wasn't even a flick at all. It was a director trying to be smarter than she really was. Before you go
