I'm currently working part time in a restaurant where the owner's daughter-in-law is the highest ranking person in the day to day kitchen operations. She has no prior restaurant experience, and even though we have an educated chef and a veteran line cook on staff she overrules them and has her own crazy ideas which are running the place into the ground.
I could easily see this situation on Kitchen Nightmares. The owner has a failing business and calls Ramsey in, Ramsey shows up and berates the daughter-in-law, she gets pissy. Ramsey leaves, daughter-in-law goes back to thinking she knows everything and runs kitchen out of business.
Some people have problems admitting they don't know what they are doing.

Used to be my favorite Pizza place in Denver, it won awards every year, and the old guy was an OG.
